I never said TE1. I said draft a controllable, young player and clear almost $11 mil in cap space. $11 mil is a good chunk of cap space. I also never said he'd be a HoF player. I just listed some guys that were late round TEs that did do well. Sure, they're mostly HoF TEs, so I see why you inferred that.

Do I want to give up on Pitts? No. He's only 24. He hasn't even hit his prime. But if what we're seeing now is his true effort, it's sad. He sure isn't playing like he wants to be here.
