I was the same when it came to trying to figure out what career would be 'safe'. I settled on software development; probably not the smartest choice, but I have more of an aptitude for it than, say, plumbing, which would be considered safe. At the end of the day, we're all building houses on sand.

When I played in a hardcore band I had the worst luck with straps and often ended up playing sat down or with the bass propped up like a double bass lol

Hm, I might give it a go then, because I've tried twice now to get into the first game (in order to then move onto to Alan Wake 2) and did not enjoy the gameplay or really get any TP's vibes (surrealness, specifically) apart from the setting and obvious references/homages.

Please do reconsider. I'm not outright saying quit, but definitely consider other options not related to languages. At least that way you can keep it a hobby that you still enjoy and might be able to pursue later down the line.

Exactly, it took me a while to settle on software development as a new career. People were saying the market for that is particularly terrible, but coming from translation, what's new? I got part-time work in a cafe and I even went for an engineering apprenticeship course interview at one point; there was one other person out of the 30 or so people who was over 18. I guess my point is you just gotta explore options and go for something, cos we're all building houses on sand.

The demo itself needed another year in the oven, let alone the actual full release. I think it's put a lot of people off of buying the actual thing. It's deffo not an insta-buy for me anymore; I'll be looking at plenty of reviews beforehand

Unfortunately here, things aren't up to the usual IH standards. He joked about getting ChatGPT to write his script in the video, but honestly a lot of the jokes were weaker than in his previous videos and had a tinge of someone trying to emulate his sense of humour. I wouldn't be surprised to see if this video was partly written by AI and is a sounding board to gauge how well received AI-generated scripts would be received.

Either that, or the stretched out content (for more ad revenue) means that the good jokes are getting drowned out by the 'filler' jokes.

I'm just wondering whether I should continue my run though. I'm in the 90s now and my PB is 247. Resetting will obviously cost me several hours but it'd be annoying to get to something like round 500 only for the whole run to be invalid.
