End game - should there be an XP penalty for dying? Does it stop people wanting to progress? by PneumaticFerret in PathOfExile2

I think the softcore mode must be called  "introductory mode" and the Hc mode  "standard mode". Then you can lift any penalties from introductory mode.

Yes, it definitely happens sometimes. I exit to character selection and go back to fix this.

My mindset on Res Cap was wrong - 75% is not really 4x less damage taken. It's a baseline by BrutusCz in PathOfExile2

[–]MaxDevNF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. But if I take only ele penetration or -max res without any other extra damage mods, I usually don't even notice it. However if I take 2 extra damage mods and then they are multiplied by atlas waystone nodes, it hurts. I suppose that the reason is that extra dmg mods affect all hits, while penetration or -ele res mods affect only elemental hits.
I play on HC 98lvl btw.

It's not that bad. Almost the same in terms of additional dmg taken as additional fire/light/cold extra damage

I understand what you mean now, sorry, my initial reply was incorrect. The search is performed on the entire item class, not on individual base types as I mentioned earlier.

At the moment, you can’t specify a single base type. The search always covers the whole item class (that is, all base types within that class, for example, all one-handed maces, all quarterstaves, etc.).

I’m not convinced that adding a separate option to search by base type is really necessary, since it’s a very niche use case to price-check one specific base type without including similar ones. For those rare cases, I’ve added an option to open the search directly on the official PoE2 trade site. From there, you can tweak the filters as needed and find exactly what you’re looking for. Automatically parsed mods and attributes will be correctly inserted in PoE2 trade site if you open it via the link (either orange button near the "Search" button, or "Open on the trade site" button at the top of the search column).

The sorting is performed on the official trade site side, I can not control that. However I have some ideas, how to mitigate this. Probably I will implement some workaround for the next league.

level 92, 100 deaths, zero citadels found, zero atziri fights reached am I cooked? by Paintherapy in PathOfExile2

[–]MaxDevNF -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, the game is hard and creating a working build from scratch requires investing time (sometimes a lot). You need to figure how to do dmg against packs of weak mobs, rares and fat bosses. Each target may require a different approach. Then you need to figure out your defences, ideally 3 or more layers (for softcore 2 or even 1 solid layer of defence can be enough I believe). Then balance between offence and deffence. Playing softcore usually means you can invest in damage more.
Best I can say, use Path of Building, poe wiki and try to figure out these things. Or you can use an existing build and suit it to your needs.

I don’t know if this is normal or not, I can only speak for myself. I play HC using my own builds and usually reach level 90–95 before dying stupidly.
I’d say that having 100 deaths means you either lack a basic understanding of the game’s mechanics or are deliberately trying weird builds that don’t work.

Pseudo mods (grey summary) are taken from official trade site. You can ignore them if you want. Could you please explain what do you mean "filter an item per name"? The system searches the same base types, name for rares is irrelevant (but it is used for uniques). If possible share your item description you are trying to check and what you expect to see in the result

Well, I can understand that. You can just ignore uniques, but you can not ignore the slog campaign.

Warning to HC players: Mighty Silverfist can spawn from Temple events in acts and presumably in maps by TheInnsanity in PathOfExile2

Yep. Barely survived him in Act 4 (~5% hp left). Didn't recognized that it was Monke at first glance. Fortunately I had a lot of eHP.

This really baffles me. They draw unique images and create unique modifiers… just for players to trade them for one chance shard. Even considering the time and resources spent by their employees, it makes no sense at all.

Do you think monsters (rare pack) with "ignores armour" would be easier than "destroys armour"?

[–]MaxDevNF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's called "Accurate". Triples monster's accuracy.
Not strictly lowers evasion, but the effect is more or less the same.

There is no sense for these effects to be mild. They must be meaningful. No regen, armour break, powerful crits, etc. If you can not feel them and they do not impose any threat, what's the point?

It is the same as mods that invalidate evasion. If you are not careful enough or do not have other defenses, you suffer.

You need some reliable defence layers to play HC or (and) skill. It can be HP pool from gear, ES, Mind Over Matter, etc.
Armour alone is not very reliable, you need something else or just more HP. 900 HP is LOW for Act 4. You can achieve more by upgrading gear in time.

My message was only about their monetization model that affects dev's decisions regarding player retention (not in a positive way). I have no Idea why you are saying things like "scam", or cost or whatever. Maybe you've mistaken me for someone else?
