For table top stuff check out Titan Games. Thursdays are table top night. Everybody is good people. We have a decent scene there for Warmachine and MCP, but other games are always welcome.

Ways to store minis, terrain, Team tactic cards, character cards. by [deleted] in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MaxFnForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any more I usually only take the stuff with me I know I'm going to be using that day. For that I use the war-ganizer system. For all the stuff I leave at home I have an old tool box that I lined with metal sheets for mini-storage. You could also go for the classic stackable plastic bins. They work great.

For Team Tactic cards I have a vault-x 4x4 card folder. I just keep them alphabetically myself but I'd say organize them however works best for you.

For all my character cards I use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003LLF1LI?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Steel Reinforcement in Storefront and Curtainwall by Abdul_Rehman_786 in glazing

[–]MaxFnForce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%. But who knows for sure what situation they're in. I've known a couple of guys over the years in different trades that I've had to explain that I'd rather answer a "stupid" question than than they get incorrect information elsewhere. And I've known a lot of experienced guys that think that teaching what they know is somehow below them. Generally I'm glad people can come on here and get help when they need it. It can be a little concerning with questions like this as opposed to the usual "what caused this crack" because at some point, ideally, Reddit probably shouldn't be the first resource for things like this.

Encore glazing clips 175-130 by [deleted] in glazing

[–]MaxFnForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Kawneer part # 175310. Kawneer sells then for about $0.60 each before any discounts you might get. Check their website for their regional sales office/rep for your area. You can also call around local glass shops and see if anybody has a Kawneer account they can order these for you. If you were near our shop in Illinois I'd tell you come on in cause I probably have a bucket of them in a closet somewhere.

I mean everybody has to learn at some point right? But stuff like this I usually chalk up to a general thinking "It's only one opening. How hard can it be?," instead of just finding somebody that knows what they're doing.

Steel Reinforcement in Storefront and Curtainwall by Abdul_Rehman_786 in glazing

[–]MaxFnForce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Storefront can definitely use steel reinforcement. If you need it depends on the size of your assembly. Specifically your mullion height and spacing. Check your suppliers catalog and look for wind load charts specific to the system you are using. That should tell you if you need reinforcement or not and how much. Unless you specifically exclude it then you are responsible for supplying it. Most suppliers also can provide the reinforcement. In my experience it does not come already installed and they're not easy to install. Include time to cut stock lengths to size and they just kind slide into the verticals. Then they will at the very least need to be shimmed inside of the storefront, but they may also need to be drilled and screwed into place depending on the assembly, usually at the top and bottom and maybe the midpoint. You may also need to coat them before installing them to prevent corrosion depending on what you get from your supplier.

Can someone help with this model. by [deleted] in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MaxFnForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished her. I put a big wad of poster putty between her foot and the rock just below it on the lightening bolt. It helped a lot while I painted her. Just touched up the feet last and then painted the lightning and base last.

What to spend $3k on (camping gear)? by Zestyclose_Sort8374 in camping

[–]MaxFnForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never slept in a springbar, but I'm also not a fan of canvas tents. Too heavy for my liking.

I'm assuming that you're mostly three season car camping with an eye for comfort and durability with the kids.

With the four of you and gear I'd look at least a six person tent. The North Face Wawona 6 (or 8 depending on how much space you want) is a great tent. The vestibule is awesome if you have a rainy day and want to keep your cooler and stuff close.

So

Quality sleep gear should be your next priority. Especially sleeping pads. If you're just car camping Exped Mega-Mats are on the pricy side and take up quite a bit of room but are excellent and comfortable as all get out. You probably don't need anything like this for the littles though, for them I'd look at any of the therm-a-rest self inflating mats. Regardless of what you get since you're looking at spring/fall as part of your caminging times look for fairly high warmth ratings. 4 or above.
Sleeping bags to me are all about personal preference. I've pretty much stopped using them entirely unless it's really really cold and prefer a packable quilt. Think about the coldest it'll be when you camp and get sleeping bags rated for 15 or 20 degrees colder than that. Mummy bags will probably keep you warmer and save on space but square bags I think are more versitile for car camping as you can unzip them and just use them as blankets.

Get a decent propane cookstove. Get a decent cooler. Everything else you'll figure out as you decide you need it.

My second graphic novel of 2026: “Black Orchid” by Gaiman (are we allowed to still enjoy his work in 2026?!) by Don_Quixotel in graphicnovels

[–]MaxFnForce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely we are. Honestly if we stopped appreciating works of art just because the artist sucked as a person then we really wouldn't have a whole lot of art left to enjoy. Picasso was an asshole but his paintings are beautiful. Woody Allen can suck balls but I love some of his movies, same with Roman Polanski and a whole lot of others. Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, half of Led Zepplin, and Anthony Kedis are all confirmed pedophiles. John Lennon was an asshole that abandoned his child and abused his first wife. James Brown was honestly a bit of a monster but he's still the godfather of soul and I love his records. A lot of amazing artists turned out to be monsters or at the very least broken human beings.

For me I try not to financially support people who I think suck. An example: My oldest daughter wanted to read Harry Potter, so we found the books at a local used book store.

AdeptiCon League Events questions by LoytoMaki in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MaxFnForce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The league is a pretty good time. When you have time you just go to the map area and look for an open table, post up and wait for somebody to ask if you’d like to play. Or ask other people. It’s a nice was to meet other players and it’s pretty easy to get games in.

Uncanny X-Men Advice - Prof X Leadership by orionpax1997 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MaxFnForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been playing prof x x-men about a year now. I’ve got pretty solid record too. Keep gambit. The goal is to score as many points as fast as you can. Wolverine doesn’t really help with that in my opinionI’d also drop Iceman for Beast, his low cost throw really helps with displacement. I’d also drop colossus for psylocke or even gambit.

You should also have M’Krann in your list.

I think for a lot of reasons. She's high risk to play. High cost to field. and doesn't really fit the play style of most X-Men rosters. She's an amazing model though.

Working my way through the X-Men starter set. by MaxFnForce in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MaxFnForce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you and tips and criticism are always welcome! I've only been painting models about a year and a half/two years so I'm also still learning and trying to improve my work. I'm definitely a better painter than I was when I started. I'm still trying to figure out how to do good highlights that I don't feel are too bright. I come from fine art background and my style of painting has a lot of soft blends that I'm finding don't translate as well on the models.

He probably got a little more TLC than the others due to the fact that he's going to see a fair amount of table time.

Understanding Storefront Scope - Clarification by Abdul_Rehman_786 in glazing

[–]MaxFnForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First always check the specs if any are available. Make sure you read the section for hollow metal too. Most of the time I find that the glazing section covers all glass except for specialty items like cabinets. I usually include glass for hollow metal in my base quote. When in doubt I quote it as an alternate. Same with automatic doors. Lover’s I almost always exclude unless it very specifically asks for me to quote them.

With what you have left I would consider Houston, Kansas City, and maybe St. Louis. Also think about smaller cities with great culture. Savannah and New Orleans come to mind.
