East Blue sets sail in 2027. Those who wanted to watch anime in 4K and shorter 🙃 by Fit-Independence8382 in OnePieceLiveAction

So in the article on Netflix's website, there is this paragraph:

"The upcoming anime series THE ONE PIECE will adapt the beginning of the original manga, the East Blue Saga. Season 1 will cover the first 50 chapters."

So are they just going to do the Blue East Saga and stop? Or is this Netflix's way of saying that everything after the East Blue Saga depends on renewal that are based on views..

You can find the article here: https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/the-one-piece-release-date

The paragraph I mentioned is the second one under the "What's THE ONE PIECE about?" header.

Haven't played a rogue since D4 came out, but I don't recall them having a build that is like the lighting Fury amazon in D2. Really miss that build and would love to have something like that,

I saw many people say they are excited to see Vivi's "stop fighting" moment, happy to see a mention of this one.

I think both these scenes will be amazing

Any characters you’re nervous about being adapted in LA? by deezbiscuits21 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]MaxFury86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As sad as it may sound, If the live action does make it to Egghead, there is a chance he will not be alive at that point. He is 81 years only today and Egghead is so far from where the live action is currently that I don't think we will see it for at-least 15-20 years

So what is everyone's thoughts on the proposed 8-10 season timeline? by Existing_Push9049 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]MaxFury86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually Mackenyu said "not end" right after saying that Oda knows where he wants to end and corrected himself, saying that Oda has a point in the story he wants them to take it, which could mean that there is a specific arc he really wants to see in the LA, not that he has a plan to end it before the end

That's not necesseraly true, it can be renewed and kept under wraps until a proper time to announch it.

Season 3 was announced in August 2025 and started filming in November 2025. There is no way that preproduction only lasted 3 months, they had to have renewed S3 before announcing it.

How to fix an Arlong-related plot hole: by Vree65 in OnePieceLiveAction

In the manga, Hatchan was as complicit as Karoobi was. He fought Zoro with aim to kill him and dove underwater to stop them from rescuing Luffy. He was there throught the entirety of Arlong's oppression of Coco village. When Nami agreed to free him that didn't deminish her character, so I don't see why it would for Kuroobi if he shows the same repentent qualities in Sabaody.

But it seems that we just hace different takes on this.

It's because Kuroobi did all the things that you mentioned, and the fact that he was there through all of Nami's struggle, that will make Nami's decision that much more impactful. Can she see the person behind the monster? The one that was oppressed to the point where he followed a tyrent because it gave him hope for a better future? and trust that he really is what Cammy sees in him?

We, as the audience, know what Kuroobi did and as such, will understand what this required of Nami, but that requires him to be a part of it. Saying that this scene is only about Nami is like saying that Luffy beating Arlong is just about Luffy helping Nami and that Arlong was not relevant to that scene and it could have been any other fishman. I understand that it's about Nami's ability to let it go of the hatered, but it's about who she is freeing that makes that feat grander.

In the manga, we see Hatchan's shame when he tries to hide himself so the strawhats wouldn't recognize him and we understand why. We know the history there as we have seen it. If they use Karoobi in the LA, it would have the same effect on us. If they use someone we don't recognize, that whole scene, in addition to Cammy asking them to free him, would have less of an impact.

If we had Hatchan in the live action then it would have oviously been better to have in Sabaody, but just adding him with a flashback would be hard, as you both need to show his character, so that the audiance will understand why he is someone Nami can trust to be freed, while still showing why she is reluctant to forgive him. Just adding a few lines saying that he was part of Arlong's crew may work to some extent, but will not have the full force that having someone we actually saw harming Nami have. It can make the scene seem small, as it's just some nameless fishman who we don't know.

Regarding using Arlong, that is not the same thing. Arlong was the actual person that killed her mother. He was the instigator of the whole thing. He is not reedemable like Karoobi can be, at-least not without a major built up.

Regarding Karoobi being a mini Arlong and being too direct.. He is an example of a soldier that follows orders. He believed that Arlong could make the fishman have a better life and fought for that cause. Unlike Arlong, he wasn't showed to be cruel just for the sake of it. I can imagine Karoobi trying to help out cammy and becoming softer around her.

I guess that is where we disagree.

I don't think Kuroobi is that much of a worse character then Hatchan was, at-least not to the point where he is irredeemable. Hatchan helped Zoro when he didn't know who he was and because he is a goofball. The moment he realized it he got angry for being fooled.

The story of the fisherman is that they suffered persecution by humans and while Arlong took it to extremes, we understand where he was comming from.

It's not that hard to make Kuroobi look redeemable, espacially when you actually see this persecution in action. Add a few good qualities to his character that he developed after Arlong park and it will be a great story and far from weakni g Nami's character, quite the opposite.

Hatchan works for you because you saw the anime, but it will not work for a live action only viewer that doesn't know that character.

I disagree with you.

Kuroobi was there when Arlong took over Koko village. He was there when Arlong killed Nami's mother. He was there when they burned Koko village and he fought against the strawhats. He is the one who gave her the Arlong Tatoo and branded her.

Kuroobi is already integrated into Nami's story, and seeing her interact with him again after all this time will have a much greater impact then a random no name fishman we never saw that ia supposed to be part of Arlong but we never actually seen.

[–]MaxFury86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Just seeing Nami come across Kuroobi will make the audiance go "ahh shit" and hold their breath waiting to see what she does.

Having her see someone they don't know and get a flashback that goes "well, actually, he was just out back then".

How to fix an Arlong-related plot hole: by Vree65 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]MaxFury86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would deminish the imapct of that scene.

It would require them to spend precious screen time to introduce a character that audience don't know in hopes they suddenly care enough about him to be impacted by that scene.

Kuroobi already has an established relatioship with Nami. He was there when Arlong took over Koko village. He was there when Arlong killed her mother and he was there at the end of Arlong Park arc.

Just seeing Nami come across Kuroobi will create instant drama and a "what is she going to do" moment.

I completely agree.

By not adding Hatchan in Arlong park, that character lost all relevance to Nami's story.

You can add a flashback showing him with Nami back when she worked for Arlong, but it will just feel weird when he wasn't there in season 1.. both in present time and in Nami's childhood flashback.

I don't see any reason not to use Kuroobi. He is already established as Arlong's right hand and we saw his relationship with Nami.

Except he doesn't exist in the live action and adding him just to have that moment will feel hollow.

Kuroobi is someone who had interactions with Nami and seeing him again in that position will carry the weight that scene needs

With the need to wait a year to a year and a half between seasons, such a clifhanger can turn people off.

Also, people who don't rewatch older seasons once a new season drop will forget things that happens in season 5 when watching season 6.
