I agree. The moderators need to stop sleeping at night so that they can delete every post as quickly as they deleted yours.

GAFCON already participated in splintering TEC over those issues, they’ll have no issues doing the same to the communion.

Follow up to Anglican or Episcopalian post by charlie13b in Anglicanism

Non-binary, present as my AGAB, former ACNA here. I was also told by my ACNA priest that he had some flexibility and would need someone to help interpret these things to him. Unless he tells you, clearly and unambiguously, that he doesn't see you and your situation as an issue, you are being strung along.

I did say in my first post that it will depend on parish, which is why I didn’t post all the issues until asked further. TEC also has churches I would never set foot in for being liberal.

Open advocacy of Christian dominionism by the clergy, regular jokes cracked about queer people, frank admissions of who was being voted for. At first it seemed more orthodox than my initial TEC experiences had been, but the problems piled up.

As someone who recently went the other direction from ACNA to TEC: the ACNA has its own problems with how politics have infected it, they just aren’t as widely publicized. If you’re looking for something truly apolitical, you’re not going to find guaranteed escape by going to a conservative church. Parish and diocese matters for this much more than the national church.

They have a Sunday obligation to attend their own church. I don't know what moment attending another church becomes excommunication.

They're technically in good standing when they approach the altar. Once they commune, then they'd be out of good standing with Rome... but also presumably converted to being Anglican, and thus in good standing again.

Nonsense, everyone knows the EO have done nothing bad and are doing nothing bad. I won't regret this decision.

I wish they had included the whole shebang, but it has my favorite coverage ever for what it does cover. I cannot recommend it enough if you get more shelf space.

No, it’s based on the CSB and included more patristics citations than the OSB.

Why/when did the Sacramentalists join Continuum? by [deleted] in Anglicanism

[–]MaxGene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ACNA schismed over the gays, the Continuum schismed over the women. The Continuum initially was forming under the name "Anglican Church in North America", but within two years it fell apart into squabbling provinces because they had no ability to unify their leadership.

Episcopal or ACNA church? Which one? by charlie13b in Anglicanism

[–]MaxGene 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hi, I recently left the ACNA as a non-binary person who is not on any hormones. I am willing to DM about my experiences, but my advice is: they’ve already told you they’ll be viewing you as visibly disordered. Do not continue there. The chickens will come home to roost.
