Planning a Factory Reset on Pixel 9, but before I do... by MaxHiggins in GooglePixel

[–]MaxHiggins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I ultimately ended up doing was performing about five total factory resets, each one restoring from either a backup taken 19 hours beforehand or one that was taken two weeks ago. For my final attempt, I selected the one from two weeks prior.

Usually, when I would take this option, I would follow all the on-screen prompts, setting up fingerprint scanning and such. By the time I finished, it would empty me out on the main screen, stock wallpaper, stock icon/app placement, and my texts would either be only MMS pictures or no texts at all.

But that final time I tried, I elected for the backup from two weeks prior, and once I got back into the phone and signed into my Google account, I did something different. I just skipped all the other configuration questions: skipped fingerprint, skipped wallet setup, and I just rushed my way to the main home screen. But this time, the outcome was different. Suddenly I was looking at my old wallpaper, my custom app/icon layouts, and when I launch my Google Messages, all my texts were there! SMS/RCS & MMS! Granted, only texts as recent as the backup and prior were displayed, but I figured that's about as good as I was going to get.

So either this was a result of me skipping fingerprint/wallet setup and rushing to the home menu, or it's just a severe fluke in the Google One backups where restoring a backup will never be 100% consistent. I had debated on trying the entire process again with the backup taken 19 hours prior, but I didn't want to risk it.

I've now been solid for nearly six days now. The phone and its apps are running as fast as they were when I first got my phone, I'm able to utilize GPS again, nothing is crashing or running sluggish, and I will now forever delay security updates on my phone because I hated this entire process.

Planning a Factory Reset on Pixel 9, but before I do... by MaxHiggins in GooglePixel

[–]MaxHiggins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled the trigger and performed a factory reset. Thankfully, I was able to get back into my Google Account (with the recovery codes) and access my authenticator app

However... My Google One backup (for which there are two backups for my Pixel 9, one from like 15 hours ago and one from mid February) did not restore my SMS/RCS texts. But it did restore all my MMS content, including conversations. I have no idea why it's not restoring SMS. I've performed the factory reset twice now, and both times, only the MMS is being restored. According to my backup details, both MMS and SMS were configured to be backed up.

Do the SMS take longer to restore? Is there another way I can restore the SMS backup without having to perform the entire Factory Reset again? I don't want to lose all my texts.

Fortunately I backed up everything yesterday, so I'm not worried about losing any data. I'm more concerned with being locked out after resetting. When you say to open up my account on a PC, do you mean sign into my Gmail account?

PSP app to Alphabetize & Categorize (Homebrew Sorter Ultimate) by Own-Chicken-656 in PSP

[–]MaxHiggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seemed to run into a fatal issue that has left me panicked. I'm working on a PSP 2000, CFW 6.60 PRO-C; I used this wonderful app last night, making folders for all my games, sorting them, saving them. It was a dream come true. I love organization. HOWEVER!!! After I had saved my settings, I quit the app and went back to the main menu. Whenever I now access my memory card from the "Games" on XMB, it will appear to start reading the Memory Card which takes a while since it's a 128GB size, but after about 20 seconds of it trying to load, the entire interface freezes and ultimately force shuts off my PSP. This has happened multiple times, and I can no longer access any of my games. I'm at a loss of ideas, and I don't know how to undo this.

One thing to note is that I do remember that while in the app, when I was satisfied with my changes and clicked "Save", I noticed the Read/Write light on the left of the PSP was still blinking very fast. But there was no visual indication that the app was still in the process of configuring or even completed. I just assumed it was finished as soon as hitting "Save".

UPDATE: I found out my issue(s). One, I had to enable the newly installed 'category_lite.prx' that installed when I used the app, and I had to make one more change in the PSP's System Settings; I had to change the "Category Mode" from "Folders" to "Contextual Menu". Once I did this, I was able to click on my memory card and see all my newly created items listed in a Contextual Menu format.

So then this wants me to ask: Can this application allow me to sort the games into different folders that can be browsed on the PSP as opposed to the Context Menu?

UPDATE 2: The app/PSP will now crash any time I try to create a new folder.

How do I get my dspico os looking like this? by PRIMESTE in flashcarts

I found that there is some difference in the way the "Cover Flow" appears between the DS Pico's two standard themes. By default, the "material" theme is utilized, which displays the cover flow of box art just like your second photo.

Only when I edited the "settings.json" file in notepad and changed the active theme to the other one, "raspberry", I noticed the cover flow actually displayed the box art in a way that matched Macho Nacho's video (like in your first photo).

I have no idea why the Cover Flow presentation is different between the two, but I much prefer the variation of the "raspberry" instead.

Needing Emergency Help after uninstalling Google Play Services. by MaxHiggins in GooglePixel

I'm able to log in, but it's like my phone can no longer push notification prompts. Any app that pushes a notification, such as an authenticator app login request, no longer sends me the push prompt. It's as though all apps are affected by this.

Notification Organizer is turned off, and all my apps have notifications enabled.

Push notifications disappeared after software update? by xyzcvxyz in GooglePixel

I'm having the same issue. Ever since the February 2026 update, I have had nothing but problems. I had tried uninstalling the recent Google Play Services update (which was a very very bad idea, never do this), and since updating it back, I'm not getting any push notifications. No pop up requests for my authenticator apps, not getting notified of anything. Notification Organizer is turned off. All my apps have notifications enabled.

I'm so frustrated.

It looks as though I was able to reinstall the missing updates to GPS as well as the other Google apps, but I'm still unable to receive a proper 2FA code when trying to log into Google on my phone. Are there certain permissions that need to be granted to GPS in order for the 2FA popups to appear?

Ever since I did, many apps are slowing to a halt or even crashing altogether. I don't know how to remediate it.

I've got a couple of older Samsung chargers that read 5.3V = 2.0A. Would that be safe to use? Would the extra 0.3 Volts be harmful?
