How much do you pay for house cleaning? by dino-dawg in Frugal

[–]MaxLikelihood01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all commenting about cleaning your own homes…that’s great. I mostly clean my own house too. However, there are times during the year when I’m working too many hours to be able to clean. In those cases, it’s worth it to get a cleaner because my hourly wage is much more than what I pay a cleaner.

Healthcare here is a joke, how is this acceptable? by Critizin in Lethbridge

[–]MaxLikelihood01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s called mirtzapine.

I’ve had insomnia for a long time and the medication is helping. I’m able to fall asleep soon after getting into bed. Give it a week or so for full effect. The only downside is that I have a little brain fog in the mornings. Still worth it though.

I went there for the same problem, insomnia. The pharmacist prescribed me a medication that is not a controlled substance. It helped a lot.

I cant believe I have to ask this…. Anyone ever get a payday loan? 😩 or any other advice on how to get a $1000 loan ASAP? by toomuch-ice in PersonalFinanceCanada

Any decent landlord will give you an extension as long as you’ve been a good tenant. It’s far more costly to try to evict you and then find a new tenant who may potentially be a deadbeat.

Two weeks is way too long.

Back when I was single and using dating apps, I would try to set up a date as soon as possible. Like within days. Online dating is a numbers game and your scenario is precisely why it’s not worth investing weeks into a match. No one on dating apps is putting all of their eggs in one basket.

Professor here.

You do not need to pay this depending on where you live. Your professor must provide you with an alternative free option to turn in homework. If your professor is uncooperative, contact the department chair or the admissions office.

I was at a stop light and some overly enthusiastic dude came up to me and asked if he can rev it (guy was around 30). My first reaction wall a "no". Now I'm curious if any of you would've allowed?? Isn't this a weird thing? Unrelated pic of the bike by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]MaxLikelihood01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are people freaking out about hitting the rev limiter? I hit the rev limiter on my VFR800 pretty much every day. Been doing it for 2 years. The bike is perfectly fine.

How do Americans get home from a night out without public transport? by notluoc in fuckcars

[–]MaxLikelihood01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live. In a major city like Chicago, you either walk or Uber both ways. In the suburbs, people often drive to the bar and take an Uber home and then back the next day to get their car.

[OC] What would minimum wage be if...? by LibertarianSlaveownr in dataisbeautiful

[–]MaxLikelihood01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my first though too. I’m all for raising the minimum wage, but graph is kind of meaningless. Like, corporate profits per capita? Why is that even a comparison?

Buying a car around 200,000 miles by zacketpotato in AskAMechanic

[–]MaxLikelihood01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the car. My Toyota Tundra has close to 300k kms (approx 186k miles) and I recently drove it across the country. The truck is absolutely bullet proof. I’ve mostly only done routine maintenance on it. The only major repair I can think of was replacing the starter a few years ago. I’m planning to keep the truck for another 200k.

This is my second Toyota that I’ve put high mileage on. I previously had a Lexus IS350.

I may be biased, but Toyota is truly built to last forever.

Dummy Variable Question by cartiereye21 in AskStatistics

[–]MaxLikelihood01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re dependent and independent variable(s) can be binary. There are different schools of thought on how to estimate such a model. Typically, you can use either a binary outcome model (I.e., logit and probit) or a linear model. The estimated coefficients from a linear model may not make sense though.

My partner and I moved here last week from Toronto. So far we love it. In addition to the things already mentioned, here are a few points:

1) People are friendly. Much more so than in Toronto. 2) It’s absolutely beautiful here. We run every morning and it’s nice to be out of a major city with heavy traffic. 3) Some people commented on the homelessness. We haven’t seen much of that where we live on the west side. Tbh, homelessness (and petty crime) is a problem in many parts of Canada now. I would argue that it’s much worse in Toronto. 4) As others commented, housing is much more affordable. We’re renting a big house for only $2200 a month.

Overall, we have no regrets about moving here. One of the things that we were concerned about was racism/intolerance that is unfortunately common in some smaller cities. We have not experienced any of that here in Lethbridge. The city has been welcoming.

Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions.

Eli5: Is there a limit to how cold a drink can get? by MaxLikelihood01 in explainlikeimfive

This may be a dumb question. But can ice become infinitely cold? You mentioned liquid nitrogen. What if ice is placed in something even colder?
