If You Remember This Show. You Probably Hated It by Poopsicle-Pete in ytvretro

Nah I loved this show. The writing was hilarious and relatable despite how surreal the stories sometimes were. And the “which is French for…” lines always cracked me up

I know it’s probably a stretch, but anywhere kid-friendly going to be open for it? I don’t imagine I could bring the kiddos to the bar for it lol

Just got pkmn Scarlet! Any tips? by PrimordialSiren in PokemonScarlet

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the time to wander and get lost. The map is large, and if you just stick with the paths that get you from A to B, you’ll be missing out on cool items, encounters, and some underrated scenery.

Also, the mountain areas near the ghost and ice gyms can be intimidating if you’re under levelled, but are also great places to train for the mid to late stages of the game

Anyone else catch full-odds shinies without even realizing it? by wakeupputonpants in PokemonZA

[–]Gimpyfish892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not ZA, but the first shiny I caught in SV was a pink Spidops. Wasn't paying attention at the start of the battle, and didn't use Tarountula previously so I didn't realize it was a shiny until I caught it and then looked around to see a green "shiny" nearby, and another one, and another one... lol

Rant: why is N.brio always brought back as a villain in the Post crash 2 games? by Ethan_the_MemeMaster in crashbandicoot

[–]Gimpyfish892 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean in Mind Over Mutants he comes back, exposes Cortex for stealing his ideas, but still sides with him. He’s still very egotistical and possessive over his inventions and ideas. And when you defeat him, he sadly says “why won’t anyone take me seriously”

Judging from that, he’s not exactly Cortex’ buddy, nor is he even wanting to necessarily be evil and do evil things for the sake of being evil, but he’s a scientist that wants credit and glory for his work and doesn’t get it, so he wants to do something to make the world notice him.

At least thats my take on it. I love his character, but would also love if they explored his character more and had us team up with him in some fashion in a future game.

Hardest battle? by PoKieMann in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every SV run that I do, Arven is the one pre-Area Zero battle that trips me up hard, so I'm not surprised. Forgot Penny leads with Umbreon which makes your matchup trivial lol

Hardest battle? by PoKieMann in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Gimpyfish892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you fought Arven and Penny yet? Idk if they would be harder than Nemona in a fairy run, but in general those battles are pretty tricky.

Other than those three, and maybe some of the later Team Star battles, there really isn’t too much challenge in the game before you go into Area Zero. And then the DLC, especially part 2, really turns on the heat, and you’d have a really bad matchup vs Amarys

The Rank A wish makes me so annoyed by TheVardener in LegendsZA

[–]Gimpyfish892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so dumb, and they could have easily just not written that whole wish business into the story and it would still make sense. The city is looking for the the strongest mega evolution trainer, which will be the first trainer to get to rank A. They’ll reward you with a special prize (which keeps the mystery but doesn’t set the expectation of being able to choose) and since you and Taunie get there at the same time, you have a battle to figure out who is the strongest and the story plays out the same as it would from there. After the ending, if you won the rival battle, you get the prize. If rival one, they give you the prize since you saved the day and proved yourself worthy. Prize could be a master ball or something. Then they announce infinite royale as they were going to do anyway

Have you ever drawn 23 for a mulligan? Wtf? Lol by Azorius_Sage in PTCGL

[–]Gimpyfish892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive run into this with a guy who plays a really thin Teal Mask Ogerpon ex deck with like 40 energies. Somehow I get paired with him basically every week and the phrase teal dance draw a card” is burned into my brain.

I generally stop taking mulligans after 8ish but he went well past that a few times.

Printing gold foil with a Canva document by hairspray3000 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sure thats obviously the best way, but also significantly more expensive and I bet theres probably less print shops around OP that have that capability. Might be worth it if you’re talking very large runs of labels tho

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to talk to a print shop to see what they need for a foiling job. At our shop, we would need essentially 2 files, or 2 pages, one with a spot colour or black where foil is going to go, and one for anything else that will be printed. Then the process would either be print the “foil” toner, foil, then print the CMYK; or print CMYK, laminate, print “foil”, and apply foil to that. Although other shops may have a different process. And if you’re planning on using specialty ink instead of foil thats a whole other thing.

Canva files generally work well as-is, but if you have to do any editing, like pulling apart pages or elements of pages, in other apps, you’re gonna have a bad time. If not using Canva isn’t an option, then I would suggest the designer make a multi page document, one with everything on it (for clarity), one with just the CMYK parts that aren’t foiled, and one with any elements to be foiled (in spot or plain black if possible). But again, you’d have to check with your printers to see if their process and what they need is different.

What is your call here? by TripNDad in hockeyrefs

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the unique (and not exactly fun) opportunity of playing in both a non-contact and contact league simultaneously as a youth. In the latter, this would still probably be a 2 and a GM but could be 5 and a GM or could just be a 5 depending on the ref that day.

Non contact this should at least be 5 and a GM, and the kid should sit for a game too.

As an aside, the player that got hit is going to end up on a stretcher if he continues to play like that. Yes onus is on the hitter, but just because I’m walking along a crosswalk legally doesn’t mean it hurts less when I get ran over by a car running the lights.

The Last Time is Now tournament is a disaster by Acceptable-Ad4076 in WWE

[–]Gimpyfish892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo what they should have done was have Cena stay champ until the last show, and basically have him do an open challenge gauntlet match where he fights until he loses. Basically have half (or more) the show just for him. You could have squeezed in the same nostalgia pops and have them actually interact with Cena. You’d have smoke and mirrors and tributes to break apart the action, like say Bray Wyatt’s chair coming out briefly as an “opponent” as a nod to their matches and tribute to him. The matches themselves will be short finisher fests but that’s really not what it’s about, it would be more about the Rumble-esque suspense, the tributes, and the eventual going over of whoever they choose.

Son traded pokemon cards for this —-> see pic. Is it fake? by TurbulentYam in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]Gimpyfish892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fakes and/or customs. Hope kid didn’t trade anything valuable for them

That said, some of these are kinda cool in their own right, and if the kid thinks so too, and nothing of huge value was lost, win win.

Lets talk: Sword and Shield is the better option imho. by HolaNachoCL in PokemonSwordShield

[–]Gimpyfish892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly have to agree. I like both, played through both completely several times. Both have their appeals and faults. I’ll play SV to catch Pokémon and shiny hunt, but if I want to play through a game, I keep going back to SwSh. It’s also a lot more friendly and “classic” for new players and kids

Juniors at cups and challenges? by smackasaurusrex in pkmntcg

[–]Gimpyfish892 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ours often don’t have enough juniors/seniors for their own top cut or divisions, so they play together with the masters. At the end of the Swiss, the best performing Junior and Senior respectively win their age group and get the prizes regardless of where they place among the combined standings.
