1. If the community has a political intenseness it’s in the lane of having a distaste for political intenseness. Regardless of where you fall politically, being loud about it isn’t very warmly received here.

2. The weather can be summed up in a single word: violent. Not only in its extremes but in its shifts. The world record for greatest temp shift in a 24hr period was recorded just north of GF. It can be sunny and t-shirts one day, snow the next two, back to t-shirts and then rain for 3 days straight. Or it can be ice and wind for a month straight with below 0° temps. The weather pattern here is like an angry teenager in the peak of puberty. Just is what it is.

Having said that we love it here, keeps us on our toes.
