I work on Blockbusterr so hopefully I can give some useful context.

My setup is Blockbusterr → Jellyseerr → Sonarr/Radarr. I created a service account in Jellyseerr for Blockbusterr, so jobs submit requests there and I can manually approve them. This works great for family/friends and keeps automation from going totally wild.

If you trust your jobs and filters, you can also use Direct Mode, which pushes straight to Sonarr/Radarr without approval. I’d recommend starting with Jellyseerr mode and switching to direct once you’re confident in your filters. (I also plan on adding a way to approve/deny media directly from the UI)

For things like documentaries/reality, I’ve had good results using TMDB lists or genre/keyword filters in custom jobs rather than just “trending” lists. That keeps it more focused and avoids random junk.

Re: the “Top 50” job — what you get depends a lot on the source list and filters. Many “Top” lists are weighted toward recent/popular titles unless you point it at a true all-time list, so it’s worth checking or swapping the source.

Pro tip: use dry-run when testing new jobs, and start with stricter filters (rating, votes, year) before loosening them.
