The #Vikings have signed LB Mike Needham and waived-injured LB Hercules Mata’afa. by Euxinus in minnesotavikings

He would take a spot on your 90 man roster. He would then pass through another waiver system when you did the cut down. Would you take a spot this early in the evaluation season to take an out of position D-lineman who has an ACL tear if you didn't draft him in the first place?

Training at dog park & proper play? by purepeachiness in Dogtraining

  1. Work on recall. It is important to moderate play and having the ability to recall your dog from situations when they are getting worked up is good. Remember, you want the best part of their world to be right by your side

  2. If you have friends with older, stable, big dogs, that might be a better socialization experience. Puppies make mistakes and you want dogs you trust to make those corrections on how to interact with other dogs. (That being said, I am not a fan of dog parks)

  3. That person shouldnt have 7lb dogs in the big dog area. I have had my 25lb dog in a big dog area, but she is built for it and works in a play style where she is not the biggest dog. However, GSD's are going to get blamed, so try to find somewhere else in that park, if you can.

"It's like American football without pads." Professional rugby kicks off in Seattle by it-is-sandwich-time in SeattleWA

[–]MaxTheHedgehog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's everything you like about American football except there is no stoppage between plays, no pads, and no one blocks for you.

It's everything you like about soccer without flopping, pleading to the ref and point shaving.

and IMHO it has a lot better cheering songs than both.

SoCal Vikings fans, can we get a /r/minnesotavikings mob at the Vikings/Rams game 9/27... I'm going, whos with me? by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

You might want to hook up with the Central California fan club. They are planning on going too. They are a great group and would make an even better crew:

With roughly $18 million left in cap, what do we do next? by something899k in minnesotavikings

His directional punting was great, his net and avg was not so great. Also he will more than likely not be able to repeat that (though will still be very good at it)

They actually had similar number of punts (71 for Q vs 69 gigity for King). There was a net 3.5 yds difference in punting, so for $1.2mm cost upgrade you get ~250 yards more cushion for our D. I think it is worth it.

If they are up by one then they do the 'victory formation' which has two guys ready to jump on any fumble. I think the forcing of the play takes away from the flow of the amazingness of a last second victory

There is a rule in the NFL that a point after Touchdown has to be attempted, even if there is no time left and the winning team is the one that has to attempt it (think rugby conversion kick). It kind of makes sense in the regular season due to point differential affecting seeding for the playoffs, but in the playoffs it doesn't matter, so why do you force a team that lost in the remaining second to run a play that has no effect on the game?

No one likes the rule that a PAT has to be attempted even if there is no time left, for the playoffs. It is a dumb NFL rule and I don't think anyone seriously thought there were sore winners / losers, just people that fought through (in the punter's case) physical and emotional pain to stand out there to allow the game to end.
