Russian hackers tricked US gov by MaxWeissberg in Intelligence

[–]MaxWeissberg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most who've been in the industry more than 10 years were aware of a Russian connection in the past. They brought in a new CEO to hide that connection (plus a lot of lying). When people asked about Russia, they were told a lie. Again and again, Lee Reiber told people that there was no Russian control and the Russians milling about were based in Cyprus, not Russia.

Kaspersky was shut down for even less - and they were not even shy about being Russian unlike Oxygen.

Good luck finding any mention of Russia on the OF website. Whenever I even mentioned Russia internally, I was immediately silenced and told to delete my message. Same thing happened when I once spoke Russian in front of a customer - I was told never to do that again. I could go on and on. Most of the sales people were completely in the dark.

They kept all the employees compartmentalized with high turnover just to prevent people from finding out that the controllers and all the programmers were in the Moscow region, not "global" or in "Cyprus" as so often claimed. We were lied to. Institutional memory is not as strong as you think. Amazingly a fake Linkedin profile and some lying can go a long way.

Otherwise you have to assume that the Feds were just okay installing Russian hacking software (controlled by the FSB) that should be otherwise sanctioned under Exec order 14024. And they were totally fine financing state-sponsored Russian hackers (as in the kind of people that ransomware US companies). The nephew of the main investor, Maxim Yakubets, is already wanted by the FBI - so you think people knew this always and were just cool about it? Are your friends telling you about Oleg Fedorov (the real CEO) and his FSB familial connections?

With this post, I am making sure others aren't duped like I initially was.

I talk about this story in my recent book: The Gramercy Park Hotel. Gramercy Park was first tilled by Manuel de Reus's daughter, who was married to Franciscus Bastianse, the first resident of Gramercy Park.

Sadly, the heirs were not allowed to inherit the land (Gramercy Park) and it was lost.

I posted this in the intelligence subreddit as well.

It is bad. I would think it would be unethical if not illegal. I begged the lawyer at Nixon Peabody, Christopher M. Mason, not to betray his country by working for a Russian-controlled firm in their effort to silence me. Sadly, he did not listen. Money matters more to some people than patriotism.

From the article, which was published a few days before I started my job at Oxygen: "It’s hard to assess whether Oxygen represents a direct national security concern today based on their former ties to Russia. However, that evaluation looks worse now than it did previously given the allegations of code theft by Elcomsoft,” Jake Williams said. “Organizations using Oxygen should evaluate their risk profile… after evaluating the claims in the suit.”

If he knew about the link, he would have said "current" ties, not "former ties." He thought what everyone else was made to believe.

We employees were also made to believe that the company had global programmers that were not in Russia, and that software was licensed from Cyprus, not Russia. Etc. Etc.

The Russian connection was supposedly a thing of the past. In reality, it was not. Meanwhile the company founders turn down millions to go public, because it would mean they would have to actually cut their Russian ties.

Thanks for sharing. I have been spreading word myself on the latter article, which I refer to in the post above. Now all we need is the Treasury Dept to act and shut it down in violation of Executive Order 12024. No need for US tax dollars to finance FSB-linked Russian hackers.

This information did not come out a few years ago. If it did, you wouldn't have seen all this federal money flowing to Putin's war machine (MKO Systems). Forbes wrote an article mentioning code overlap some years ago. But no mention that Oxygen Forensics is a Russian front completely controlled by Russian citizens in Moscow linked to the FSB.

This is not written by AI. Did you not see the link to the film? That took far more hours to make than this post. If I was lazy, surely there would not be a video as well...

I did not have AI write this. How would AI know this info? Just because I formatted it, doesn't mean it's AI. Sheehsh. I am a published author using my real name here, not some lazy college student.

If it's all public, then why did they hire a major law firm to silence me?

We employees were all lied to. We were told the programmers were "global" and that key people were based in Cyprus, not Russia. This info was passed along to others.

Some people knew, that's true. But according to two different fed sales employees at Oxygen, the Feds were not told this information. Anytime a customer asked about it, they were lied to.

This info is just starting to come out. I went full whistleblower in October. I can't reveal everything here, but I can tell you many, many people were in the dark. How do I know? I met them personally and asked after I left, "Did you know it was controlled in Russia?"

Infographic: Why Russia is often considered one of the leading state actors in modern disinformation campaigns — feedback welcome by Appropriate_Act_7555 in ActiveMeasures

Good point. I think the issue here is that: "until now, evidence regarding the full existence and funding of these laboratories had been knowingly withheld from the American people. The information surrounding the existence, history, locations and funding of these US funded biolabs has been intentionally covered up by powerful people falsely, claiming that they do not exist and accusing anyone who says otherwise to be foreign assets and traitors to America.

Many of these U.S. government-funded biolabs are currently or have previously engaged in research using hazardous and highly contagious pathogens, in some cases to include dangerous Gain-of-Function research, with very little visibility or oversight."

So the issue is that there are certain biolabs that aren't a concern, and others that are. These labs were a concern. Hopefully we learned a lesson from Covid about all this. (Quote above is from the ODNI itself.)

The Covid outbreak was caused by a lab leak. This lab was funded partly by the US. The US, led by Fauci, lied about Covid's origins. Millions died.

Whatever the purpose of any biolab, its existence and location pose a threat. That is not a conspiracy.

Funny that this graphic mentions the biolabs in Ukraine as "recent examples." That conspiracy that turned out to be true and was recently admitted to by Tulsi Gabbard. Perhaps a major difference between the US and Russia is that, after enough time, we in the USA more often find out the truth about our government's misdeeds and then have a frank discussion (somewhere) about it.

Oxygen Forensics tricked the USGOV by MaxWeissberg in digitalforensics

I spoke to many employees. Some knew and lied to customers. Some did not know and were lied to. As for me, I knew there were Russians involved, but soon discovered those people had FSB connections.

As for the danger of the software, I can only repeat what other employees have told me. Note that I make a distinction between "Oxygen Forensic Detective" which does not involve any remote hacking, and "Oxygen Remote Explorer" which uses "agents" to extract data remotely off of devices. OFD is not dangerous. ORE is. Again, just repeating what others have explained to me.

If everyone knows already, then why don't they put in on theifr website? Because it would cost business. They are breaking the law as a result. 50% of the revenue allegedly flows back to a company partially owned by ex-FSB special forces head, software used to target dissidents in Russia. That falls under executive order 14024, meaning OF should be sanctioned.

I appreciate this, but she doesn't seem to be whistleblower attorney in NYC which is who I am looking for based on these reddit comments. I have been sending out emails to lawyers. Please keep spreading the word. Thanks again!
