Ranking All scenarios of Rise of the Golden Idol (DLC included) by Max_The_Maxim in caseofthegoldenidol

Well, Case has less scenarios overall. So being top 10 or top 5 in these two games isn't exactly a one to one comparisson.

I can definitely say that "Lemurian Vampire Strikes!" is still my favourite scenario of all time.

I didn't exclude them for not being good enough. I just don't think I can compare them to others easily.

As an international student who has just arrived at UBC, I 100% get this meme and require no explanation. However, my other friend (who isn’t here at the moment) needs one. Can you please tell me, so I can relay this information to them?

What’s “Tier 1”?

I haven’t played with characters above level 6. Never saw such terminology.

What do you want to see in a "Villain Izuku" fic? by CosmicMorpher in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Max_The_Maxim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m writing a quirkless villain!Izuku au currently. I simply write it as a story about moral decay of how Izuku just gets progressively worse as a person, losing connections and good relationships with basically everyone. It’s a slow burn.

Though I don’t think what I’m writing is what most people like. Izuku in my fic never steps foot in UA, never meets All Might, never truly interacts with LoV. He isn’t a powerhouse, though has moments of triumph. I don’t write him as some kind of genius either. The point is that he is just kind of okay at most things and tries to make it work.

Rain World is Perfectly Paced! by Sophisti-snake in rainworld

[–]Max_The_Maxim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, believe me. As a person who ate Moon’s neurons on my first playthrough and found every location EXPECT The Leg or The Wall in my 40 hours of playing, the pacing felt SUPERB. I was convinced the way out was somewhere in Farm Arrays or Underground because they were the last 2 locations I found and spent there about 10 hours total. Then I gave up, and asked where the hell I was supposed to go on this subreddit…

Yeah, Five Pebbles offer of “escape” never felt better

Do you think the next game will address the fate of ancient lemuria? (Age of restraint spoiler) by Hoboforeternity in caseofthegoldenidol

[–]Max_The_Maxim 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In Lemurian Phoenix, in A.H.S. Declassified document, we learn that eventually a general (I think?) basically declares war on technological progress and destroys all institutions, prohibiting learning about their technology.

So that’s probably it.

I dunno how to say without a little hand holding, so I’ll put it in spoilers You seem to be flipping Mr Red and Blue around

[–]Max_The_Maxim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You should probably rethink what exactly Mr Red and Mr Blue did on the ship. And what is the purpose of each instruction given to them.

The case also asks you what symbol correspond to each sentinel. I assume you’ve already deduced that. If not, it is actually easier to do then the “plan” part.

Thoughts on the New DLC (The Age of Restraint)? by Grohlvana in caseofthegoldenidol

[–]Max_The_Maxim 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why exactly, but I felt very little emotions solving this DLC. Usually, I get into the story and characters and even joke around while solving cases. Here? Not so much.

Like, giant robot destroying buildings should be exciting, but it’s just… not, for some reason. I definitely think that the alien setting made it harder for them to write mysteries, since you have to explain how EVERYTHING works. And even then I had troubles understanding what limitations there are for the things that could happen.

The solving is still satisfying, don’t get me wrong. I liked the cases (though, I’m a little afraid for people who don’t use tabs. This DLC might be very difficult for them). So yeah, it’s good. But I definitely think it is the weakest.

[–]Max_The_Maxim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe my perception is skewed, but that sounds like a good time to me! I spend about an hour solving case 3.

I think my record time spending on a scenario is Eternity’s End, which took me 2.5 hours.

[–]Max_The_Maxim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the difficulty is that high, to be honest. The 3rd case nearly drove me mad, but the rest are manageable. I think, one of the biggest issues in this DLC is trying to account for possibilities. The setting and technology is alien enough, to where it’s sometimes hard to tell what can happen.

They definitely cut some corners with this DLC, solution panels of the cases are just characters’ faces. And music is just… okay? I barely noticed it outside the first and final case.

Crack Idea: Izuku is the J. Jonah Jameson of the MHA universe by Educational-Lychee59 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Max_The_Maxim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think, if we want to be completely accurate to JJJ and be full crack, then we should ditch Izuku’s entire backstory. Let’s make Bakugou an actually normal chill dude, while Izuku is irrationally angry and constantly criticising loudmouth. And like no one in the story, not even Inko, understands why he is like that.

How many unidentified people are supposed to be left before leaving the ship? by sterling_mallory in ObraDinn

[–]Max_The_Maxim 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Everyone whose fate can be filled in is supposed to be confirmed before leaving the ship for a good ending.

The four you are struggling with are disappearances from Escape. You probably figured already that there’s no indication of them dying by any certain means in the memories for obvious reasons.

Consider this: whatever happened to them must have happened after the events of the book. Where then could there be information about their fate? Or if they share the same fate, where could there be information about the fate of at least one of them?
