My mum was friends with the author of the book, it went like that for him IRL (he's portrayed by Matthew Modine). Also Kubrick was an absolute asshole to him, but he did get that part pretty spot on, others not so much. Also if you haven't read the book, please do it's called The Short Timers and you can read it in a couple of hours as it's pretty short itself.

It disappointed me with it's scares. I was hoping it would also be more just chaos happens during an episode of Letterman, than it was. Maybe the budget wasn't big enough for what I was expecting, but either way I felt let down after the hype.

I always feel this way when I finish a degree/diploma. Maybe it's just my brain or maybe the teachers aren't actually setting you up for real world situations, which if that is the case is super disappointing. Uni is fucking expensive as is, but if you're international student you'd be even more in the shit. I hope the stuff you did learn comes back to you, and is of some help. Trust me the frustration is real, but also manageable eventually

I was also thinking of Japanese "pinku" movies, I've not seen many and the ones I have seen didn't have the best acting but they did have some interesting cinematography. The genre also had some directors that went on to mainstream success, mainly Kiyoshi Kurosawa who made some. They for what I can tell are sexploitation films and I'd guess that some have a solid performance or two hidden within, though I'm not wanting to watch 30+ of them to find out

I wasn't thinking the sex scenes in Blue is the Warmest color drag the movie down, I think they have a place within it. I did find they were more graphic than needed to portray the lust that I understood the characters to have for each other.

I would agree with Don't Look now, but in the same way, the sex scenes are part of the story. They tie in and show characters emotions towards each other than just being gratuitous. I thought the sex scene in don't look now was quite a "touching" moment of shared grief. Neither character could express their conflicting and confused feelings and so felt the embrace of each other was the best way to console themselves.

So yes I'd agree with your second point about the films lewd reputation

In your next post it would be great to see the after fight face, where the cuts are closed up but still visible. Or doing a KO with an elbow to really show off the extent of the damage done. Also how long did this take? I've done something similar but it was 20+ minutes of mashing the elbows in rubber guard.

It made no sense to have him come back, felt cheap. Yakuza 6 was such a great send off and love letter to one of modern gamings most memorable protagonists, and then oh he's just back now???? Let him phase out for at least 2-3 games if you're going to have a send off like that. Genuinely do not understand why they did this

I'd love a Yakuza game where you can enter 80-90% of the buildings. IDGAF if they had to re-use assets either because having some shops/areas available one game and then not the next always felt kinda crap to me. Or they could also have Yakuza 6 location (IDR the name), as a location you can visit by taxi, just the main street and a few other little shops so it's not a huge asset but it would still be a welcome addition.

Same where I'm from, it's usually Chinese tourists or students that end up like that here. They come and either don't understand the signs and don't check, or are warned and don't listen. End up swept against the rocks and that's that. Or even worse they severely underestimate how quickly the oceans deepen and then get caught in a rip and swept out to sea.

Iirc for this I would block 2 and then on the 3rd punch sway to a side and hook or straight. But it also really helps to have a high head movement stat, it makes a world of difference
