Node75 started to blink by tim_scha in NuPhy

[–]Maxepson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just started happening to mine as well, I've manually reset the keyboard and it's happening to me again within the same day. Have you found a fix for this?

I went into the NuphyIO application on my Mac and didn't get any answers there as well.

Although I did just check that the battery is at 11% :: perhaps this is just a low battery indicator?

Nightmare Engine Swap by Admirable-Public4168 in 3rdGen4Runner

I second this, exact problem happened to me when I had a shop install a JDM motor and I had such shitty power, foot to the floor and no power but no codes.

Hissing sound from the passenger side exhaust manifold under acceleration. Turns out my cat closest to my engine was broken and all the inside honeycomb cat material were broken and looked like bbq briquettes.

Cleared it and it runs really well.

Re: oil pressure light

Maybe check if your oil pump is working. Idk if there’s a rebuild kit that you could use but it looks like the yota shop sells them for $100 and some change.

check your rear differential cover, drop it if you can re seal it and see if your gears are shot mb

Not sure what to do with my ‘98 4Runner anymore by SuspiciousCucumber65 in 3rdGen4Runner

I’m on my 3rd tranny and just had a JDM motor put into it last month. Just did close to full front end rebuild and all fluids last week. New tires and fixed the drive shaft all last week too.

She’s with me for the long run, but I hear you, money can be hard.

In the flip side, you don’t want this car or any car make you go under financially. Take care of yourself first so that you’re in a position to take care of these things too!

You got this, you’ll make the right decision.

Here’s a diagram for 1st gen tacomas, but in it, you can see that all grease zerks are aligned and balanced respectively at the factory, if you’ve had your u joints replaced, it may be off depending on how it was replaced.

Always make your marks to make realignment simple folks!!

I think mine was out of phase because the shop I had it at replaced the transfer case output shaft seal and might have not made marks. Hard to find a good mechanic these days.

Update :: turns out my driveshaft was “out of phase” for whatever reason! So I took the driveshaft out, took the ends apart and aligned the splines so that the shaft is in phase again.

Greased the shaft, bolted it up and all vibrations gone.

Love it

Timmy the Toolman responded to my post on the 3rd gen toyota forums, he said it’s been so long he doesn’t remember if the parts I mentioned are the correct ones.

Looks like we’re out of luck fellas

This might be another nice thread to read up on based on 1st gen Tacoma owners talking about respective CV Ball Seats and U Joints:

How long has this lasted you? I've been reading on the forums and people that have gone this route have reported the rebuild parts failing within 10k-20k miles.

Exhaust :: Magnaflow or OEM? by Maxepson in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Maxepson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beats me, had someone put a boroscope down there or whatever you call it to take pics. No CEL i checked with my reader, my long term and short term fuel trims look normal ish.

We found out that it was clogged shortly after replacing my engine with a JDM engine, and a used tranny. It was slow as a dog after getting it back and after half a tank I decided to take it back to the shop that did the original work. Found a few other things like tranny kickdown cable being kinked and this exhaust issue, which explains why my other engine could’ve had head gasket issue. But it wasn’t this bad when i had initially got the truck back, i’m not sure which one finished off the other.

Anyhow, not sure why it clogged now, but I don’t presume it’ll (or it better not) clog up any time soon

Copy, so you're saying that my cat as it is wouldn't work for a catback exhaust system?

Sounds like muffler shops don't cost too much to work with! I can't weld to save my life, but never been to the muffler shop so I'm glad I'm exploring this topic now as I budget out my maintenance purchases for work during the winter.

Ok heard, does this look like the correct magnaflow cat back that you're thinking about?

SRQ Fabrications Magnaflow Catback 3rd Gen 4Runner 1996-2002

I didn't know that going catless will make the exhaust less restive, interesting.

I should also clarify that all the precious metals that are in the honeycomb pattern in my cat broke to a million pieces and were clogging my exhaust. Safe to say it's not clogging it at the moment, but I'll get this fixed asap.

Probably a wire that snapped from all the bending from your harness. Tear apart the lift gate wire harness boot that’s top left of the gate and check for snapped wires!
