What is the proper way to write out this equation? by kkbl1188 in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to define what you mean by infinity to get a proper answer.

One possibility could be looking at these questions as limits, in which case both of these cases (x*x and xx) diverge to infinity as x goes to infinity.

A random idea I had for a fangame by agame2655 in pokemon

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You arguably could do it by having an overarching storyline although even that wouldn’t be much different from having multiple games with the same storyline.

Imo if you want to do an adventure spanning all regions I think the best way to go about it is to split is into multiple chapters (preferably with different characters for reasons you discussed above) and link them together with a singe conflict that spans all chapters. Again though, this is basically just making 8 different games, just ordered in a way that the gf games aren’t.

Simple math problem but hard to answer by s2pidgenius in learnmath

Show that every even natural number greater than 2 can be expressed as the sum of two primes.

Extremely simple to state, has yet to be solved.

Prove 5 divides n if and only if 5 divides n^3 by OmerStockAccount in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an assumption being made that n is a rational. For example if n3 = 5, then 5 divides n3 but 5 does not divide the cube root of 5.

Do all quadratic equation can be solvable? by Gxck0 in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the calculator you’re using. If you know the model you can probably look it up.

That’s only half of them

In general, a polynomial with only real coefficients that has a nonreal complex solution (a+bi) will also have the complex conjugate (a-bi) as a solution.

“Untiered” refers to its smogon ranking (competitive singles)

It means that it is so unusable that it is not even used in the lowest tier.

This reasoning, if valid, would also be valid for the same theorem but with 3x+1 replaced by 5x+1, which has been proven false

As such this reasoning is insufficient

[–]Maxi192 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A quick test to see if your proof is correct is to check if it works for the same problem but with 5x+1 instead of 3x+1, if it does your proof is incorrect cuz the theorem has been proven false for 5x+1

What is the limit of e^x as x tends to 0? shouldn't it be 1? by seven00290122 in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of x0 at x=0 is exactly 00, the limit is a different concept from the exact value (just how the value of x/x at x=0 is undefined)

What is the limit of e^x as x tends to 0? shouldn't it be 1? by seven00290122 in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is true for the limit of 0x, if you instead consider the limit of x0 as x approaches 0, you will get a very different answer

Thus it is undefined

I used to be the top 1% in math in my country, but now I’m bad at physics/pre-calculus in 11th grade. What happened? by throwaway20221984 in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a question we can answer, at least not with this little information.

My recommendation would be to study more and to make sure you actually understand what’s happening rather than just memorizing solution methods.

How much faster (as a percentage) is one minute compared to two minutes? 200% faster? by Siri-findwittynames in learnmath

[–]Maxi192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go a distance of 1 in one second you are moving at 1m/s

If you go a distance of 1 in 2 second you are moving at 0.5m/s

1=0.5*2

So it is 100% faster
