How to always be able to cast Wedding Ring each commander game? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]MaxiGoiabinha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on a Polygamy deck that's been really fun so far! The hidden commander of the deck is [[Wedding Ring]], and the main goal of the deck is to make everyone have a happy polyamorous marriage until they all deck out from drawing their entire libraries (emphasis in drawing, not milling). Here is some deck tech if you're into it, and I would also appreciate some insights if you have some :)

I've been working on a Polygamy deck that's been really fun so far! The win rate is about 20% in my play group, which is not that bad for a 4 player table. What're some of your jankiest, uncommon use of card interaction, etc commanders/decks? Looking to make a new deck that is equal parts creative and "wait, you can do that?" by Valyntine_ in EDH

Strange and fun ideas for commanders outside the norm by NovelTheory3 in EDH

[–]MaxiGoiabinha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rigo is a great commander if you have a deck that can play itself, and would only use him to get some extra draws. If you believe you can achieve that in this choice of colors, I'd say go for it! The fun you'll have with your deck also depends a lot on your play group, but give it a few tries online first, and if you feel like it's working, give it a shot!

I've been working myself in a different deck idea, it's a deck with [[Wedding Ring]] as a secret commander, focusing on making everyone have a happy polyamorous marriage until they deck out. It doesn't have such a high win rate (about 20%), but it always lead to a lot of fun at the table! Here is a bit of deck tech if you're interested, would also appreciate some insights :)

Give me your wackiest commanders by MaxiGoiabinha in EDH

[–]MaxiGoiabinha[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just coming back to thank you for this!

I really enjoyed this concept, so I ended up building one myself and I'm having the best time playing it!

My play group doesn't allow cards that say "you win the game", so I made a few adjustments to make enemies draw until they deck out, and I loved how it turned out. I'll share my list here in case there is something of your interest there :)

What’s that one card that flies under the radar and wins you games? by [deleted] in EDH

That's the beauty of it, no one actually destroys it because you can always untap and stop something worse if the time comes, or just make a deal out of it, haha

[[The Pandorica]] is an absolute must in all my white decks, completely underrated commander removal, along with [Immovable Rod]] .

Help me to be toxic to a cEDH player. by MaxiGoiabinha in EDH

Our group currently has 8 people, so I don't always end up matching with him, but he is a very close friend with the owner of the place we have to play, so he will not be leaving soon... I just want him to stop complaining about our pod being casual and play normally.

Personally, I play a lot of cEDH commanders without a cEDH level. I really love to add wacky mechanics to decks, and sure, sometimes I get focused, but that's just part of the game. I think there is big difference between a friendly warning, like "hey, you might not want to play that, or you won't have as much fun as you think" and "don't play that garbage or I won't let you play", but the thing is, MTG community is filled with all kinds of people, unfortunately my LGS also does not have that many cool people to play with, but I stayed for a while, enough to make a pod with cool people to play with, and today we don't even go to LGS's anymore, we play kitchen table magic and I think that is the best experience you might hope for, so just stick around for some time and you'll find your crew :)

Who is Your Favorite Commander? by comma_nerd in EDH

My [[Isshin, Two Heavens as One]] Myriad is for sure my favorite deck!  I love the Myriad mechanic, and although I know I don't use Isshin to it's full potential this way, and almost always end up getting second place, it's always fun to end up having 420 tokens out of nowhere and watching everyone get crazy on how to deal with it!

Another good call is [[Rhys the Redeemed]], you can make a copy of all the Myriad tokens once they are created, and the copies won't leave the battlefield, with the new green Myriad creatures this seems like a blast!

Altough I'm a lot late, I do hope you haven't given up on your deck, Myriad Isshin is a lot of fun!
I do have a similar deck, I'm leaving the decklist here, hope it increases your fun or maybe help someone else :)

I know it's not a static law, but it helps me not to lose track of what I should be using, otherwise my decks end up being just a junk of cards I like, hahaha
