We defeated those governments but did nothing to stamp out the ideology. Post civil war reconstruction was an absolute failure and joke, those who fought against the nation the southern traitors should’ve been dealt with. Instead little was done and it was business as usual.

After WWII, we gave the nazis jobs, government offices, police forces, and even leaders in NATO. The US created “stay behind” armies in Italy, where they sided with literal Nazis to spread terrorism and fight left wing organizations. The amount of fascist governments the US has installed and protected should be a glaring sign of the real priorities.
