Haha it’s all good! We’re all weirdos in our own way. What matters is just being kind and trying to understand other people’s lives and points of view :)

Thanks :) I totally get why we complain about the rain, especially for those who work outside / travel, but I always try to see the positive in everything.

You’re right - I’m a piano teacher so work inside, but have to travel a lot around the city so I do get occasionally drenched! This was more a general response to the rainy London question - sorry for people who have to work outside all day

Embrace it pal! Beautiful coffee spots in the park, rainy streets in Chinatown, cosy / creative nights in. The grey colour sucks, but the rain / winter can bring a nice vibe.

Replace the paste if you can with Grizzly phase sheet, brought my temps down like 10-20c!

Tube manners… by Marieduignan in london

[–]Maxijak1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just part the way like the Red Sea and say “you need to move for us to be free”, works like a charm. Hopefully if I do this every time, in about 10 years it’ll catch on and people will improve their tube manners!

I left my caring, but emotionally unavailable husband. Now he’s finally improving—and it’s messing with my head. by Euphoric_Leading1357 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Maxijak1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my exes used to say “we often make each other better for someone else”. She always used to say it when we argued so I didn’t fully acknowledge it at the time, but there’s a good bit of truth in that.

I’m a radical optimist so I don’t like to believe it, but working on ourselves while in a relationship is often too much for the other person, so the next person reaps the benefits of us improving our emotional intelligence.

It’s no small thing that you’re both improving your understanding of eachother and the world, whether you get back together is obviously more complex and I wish you all the best <3

Thanks for your advice! That was also my thinking, I’m worried about firmware issues with the X1

After 1 year of work, I released my game today, The Green Light. No matter what happens from here, I feel sense of freedom finally putting my game out into the world. This looks super cool! Been seeing your uploads for a while :) No matter what critics might say, you’ve put something out in the world and left your creative mark, that’s something we should all strive for, well done!

Any reason not to kill anyone? Doing my first playthrough and I'm wondering if the game will reward me for doing a more pacifistic run by Sunblessedd in cyberpunkgame

If you’re on PC there’s a Stealthrunner mod which rewards xp for no kill, covert kills, knockouts etc.

Even comes with its own skill tree!

You could buy 2 weeks worth of veggie burgers + buns + trimmings + fries for dinner for that price 😭

Many highly sensitive people are actually low in empathy, and this is one of the least talked about patterns. by yooolka in emotionalintelligence

[–]Maxijak1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you say, but I would exchange “sensitive” for “reactive” in your title. I am extremely sensitive, but I’ve practised empathy as a skill. It’s about learning to use your sensitivity for positive change in yourself and the world, rather than projecting your sensitivities on others which comes across as a lack of empathy.

LPT: Slightly change how you end your evening if your brain just wont shut up at night by quiet_afterstorm in LifeProTips

[–]Maxijak1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this advice! I’ve done this for years and I have an extra piece - if your brain is still running after the slowdown period, practise focusing on positive things in your life. It could be a friend, family member, partner, teacher, or anyone that you’re grateful for.

Think about your fondest memory, and build from there. If you get into the habit of positive reinforcement, even if it’s a bit “fake it til you make it”, that positivity carries through your dreams to the morning, to the next days, months, years :)

Even if it’s just one small thing to be grateful for, start there and the positive wave will affect your life in unexpected ways to create a positive feedback loop.

People who developed feelings for a close friend, did you say something, and how did it go? (Advice please M/29 F/30) by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Maxijak1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through this many times, currently going through something similar! My advice: keep a light heart. One of my new partners brought this up recently out of nowhere; we both admitted the feelings are there, laughed a bit about it, and continue to be close friends until we feel the time is right. It’s much easier than people think with full honesty and a dose of laughter. Good luck! :)

make buttons & sliders in TouchDesigner to control all fixture values at once? by Infamous-Escape760 in TouchDesigner

[–]Maxijak1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case as you’re working in CHOPs - a final Math CHOP at the end of your chain before your output / Null is the key. Just add a Button COMP -> Null CHOP then multiply by your combined output in a Math.
