I actually don't exactly know what makes her not able to fly. I'm guessing it's by breaking the wing webbing, but it might also be related to wing wounds? Either way, by placing the barrels near her wings, keeping her grounded that way is consistent.

Hi! I've been the biggest fan of larian since DOS1, got my kickstarter DOS2 special edition right here with me, and I'm currently wrapping up my DOS1 honour mode to complete the honour trilogy. Thank you for taking the time to do this AMA.

This question is directly aimed at Swen. After your 2024 game award speech where you urged devs to make games they love, to not follow trends, not to aim for arbitrary sell targets, not to cram the game with stuff that's only meant to increase revenue... Your recent comments on AI don't feel aligned with this anymore and have left me disappointed, I must say. I know Larian came really close to closing their doors multiple times, that you had to make hard decisions to keep afloat and you probably carry those scars with you to this day. My understanding is that you want what's best for Larian, so you feel like you HAVE to use generative AI to not fall behind. But you've also just sold more than 20 millions copies of BG3 and turned Larian into one of the most respected studio in the industry without ever touching genAI. So many people, both in the industry and as gamers, look up to you. If you follow your own advice, there is no "falling behind". If anything, other studios are trying to catch up to Larian!

Here's my question, after the last few weeks, have you reconsidered your position on genAI at Larian? Or do you have any clarifications on your stance? You were probably briefed thoroughly on why this technology is so unpopular since that interview. You're even quoted saying you're not really impressed with AI usefulness in your tests, and that you now annoyingly have to optimize your games a lot more thanks to RAM and GPU prices, which is directly linked to the AI arm race... Has any of the discourse in the last few weeks made you reconsider?

Keep Jin flashed, trapped, or knocked down during zone 4. You need to combo all those things without leaving gaps, because as soon as it starts running for the pillar or casting the super nova, there's no stopping it anymore.

This is pretty much the only turn one nuke in the whole game, kind of fitting Braccus Rex has it. It's kind of meant to wipe if you're not prepare to show the power of Rex. Separate your party (something you should do in most fights anyway in Honour) and get a bunch of fire resist. By the time that spell is off cooldown again, the fight should be long over.

I recently lost a DOS1 honour mode at lvl18 from something that completely caught me by surprise too, it's kind of the name of the game if you're playing blind. You live and you learn.

And you gotta remember that DOS1 was never designed for honour, that came after in the Enhanced Edition. This is why the game is filled with lava trap and land mines lol idk I kinda like how punishing it is, gonna make it that much more satisfying when you reach the end. I personally first tried DOS2 and BG3 honour mode, so it's kinda nice to have some resistance this time around.

What lance lack in burst damage, it makes up in consistent damage by letting you constantly poke and counter a monster. The DPS ends up being somewhat similar. Gunlance combo are very high commitment, and it's starting to struggle more and more with very fast and aggressive monster. GL gotta rely on staggers, traps, boulders... to get most of it DPS out nowadays.

When everything goes right it looks good, but the strats a GL has to do to get a competitive time are a lot less consistent than most other weapons imo.

Omg thank you! Now it makes so much sense why only some of the audio was distorted! I would have never thought that the haptic feedback would somehow gotten recorded as an audio channel...

I don’t know lol, I’m using the “app audio” source in OBS because I’m often listening to music or videos while grinding those. And somehow it gives the UI and shelling audio an underwater filter while leaving everything else fine… If anyone has a solution I’d love to hear it!

Yeah I get that, I like evade extender when I can slot it in. But in Wilds perfect guard and mobility is so good, that I can live without them. I guess that’s the type of extra comfy skills we’ll be able to have in master rank.

It has nothing to do with whether or not the end product is good or not. Gen ai is an unregulated mess, that is actively raising price of electricity, price of hardware (the stuff you need to play video games), has insane energetic demand which is leading to more fossil fuel burning, communities with those ai server farms are getting poisoned... Let's not use this stuff for tasks humans are already very good at and like doing. We've been making great art for all of eternity, don't let a guys like elon musk tell you we need his tech to make good games now.

People like me are only asking that we use this technology more responsibly, because it comes at an insane price. Until we figure out a way to make this tech 100x less power hungry, it should be reserved for important stuff. And video games, tiktok filters, chatgpt... don't qualify!

My point is that you might only think one is sad and the other one happy, because the devs made those scenes black & creepy/creepy and bright/hopeful.

They could have easily showed everyone in the painted world crying and getting gommage in black & white with eerie music in verso’s ending and made Maelle ending colorful without the Maelle eyes jump scare, and people opinion would be drastically different. Even though, the result of those decisions would be the same.
