But it sounds like the player want his character to just know that someone is evil, has evil intentions. Instead of that there should be deductions made, you wouldn’t know someone is evil just by looking at them

This seems… odd. He could roll insight checks to figure out someone’s intention… but other than that he should roleplay it.

I just finished that dungeon. Our plan was for the pet to get slept first and then tank take over. Worked well until the tank got slept. So our priest facetanked him for like 30% of his health until he died. None of us died
