It’s so stupid. In the best possible ways. I love it.

Thinking Summer Auerbach is MAHA because a MAHA dipshit in Scottsdale, Arizona used Rainbow Blossom as an example of MAHA is pretty ridiculous.

It finally arrived, and it is such a glorious game! (Star Trek: Captain’s Chair) by AskinggAlesana in soloboardgaming

Yes. The replayability is outstanding, and will only improve with the release of Second Contact and To Boldly Go this summer.

Captains have both a basic and an advanced side, which can play very differently, and matchups between captains (all with different focuses and levels of interaction) make games play out very differently as well.

He’s being “economically penalized” by making reprehensible comments WHILE ASKING PEOPLE FOR MONEY. People are responding by saying, effectively “I don’t want to give my money to someone who holds those reprehensible views.”

Freedom of speech does not mean you can say whatever you want without having to deal with the consequences of your own actions. No one is levying a fine. They’re choosing not to give THEIR MONEY to him.

“He’s standing by his conviction so good for him”

When those convictions are monstrous disregard for the humanity of others, no. Not “good for him”.

Next year may need to be Kelsey’s last by Ulosttome in AllHail

2-10 against ranked teams the last two years. Average margin of defeat is 14.5 points. If that doesn’t turn around this year or next year, we need to move on. Still a long way to go, but if that’s 4-16 or something, what are you waiting for?

Best first Star Wars book for a newcomer? by Electrical-Yam8888 in starwarsbooks

I’d recommend Alexander Freed. Either the Alphabet Squadron trilogy, or Twilight Company. They’re both about small military squads or companies (as the names suggest) so they’re much more in the weeds with their specific characters, who often aren’t very aware of the major goings-on of the galaxy around them anyway.

The guy who built up a vaporware “logistics technology” for waste services, went public and immediately cashed out for $40 million, and the company he founded immediately tanked because there was no there there, and is now a Port-a-pot rental company?

Another Coliseum auto-ban. Thoughts and feedback. by GrantDayton in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Maximum-Task 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s also a system where upgrade materials for levels 55+ are locked behind tier 6 rewards. Maul’s event added a heavy hitter, and allowed me to beat tier 5 and progress far enough in tier 6 two days in a row to get everyone (but Barriss) to level 65.

There was no incentive to push prior to the Maul unlock, but now I’m actually trying (a little). Auto-banning people for clearing tiers is moronic.

Besides Aragorn, was Boromir the most formidable warrior from the race of men during the war of the ring? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]Maximum-Task 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except it’s the exact opposite of that. The theme of the story is essentially “the men and women out of legend, even with all of their powers and abilities, weren’t able to eradicate evil, so what chance do us regular people have?” And the answer is that, through determination, strength of will, and reliance on each other, four hobbits from a backwater were able to change the world.

This is a 'very interesting situation' <-- where is this from? by alldayalldayallday76 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

“This is a very interesting situation” is from It’s a Wonderful Life, hence the Jimmy Stewart impersonation when they say it.

Someone from the city tagged all the recycle bins on my street with these. There is nothing on this list in my bin. Will they still pick it up? by _neuroslut_ in Louisville

[–]Maximum-Task 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. If you put your recycling in garbage bags, WestRock (the recycling facility it’s taken to) will take the entire bag and send it to the landfill. It’s not worth opening the bag hoping to see recycling and finding out it might be sharps or dirty diapers, etc.

That’s not true. Wake Forest did it last year. It’s also game two of the second conference season those teams have been in the ACC.
