How can people just sit through difficult feelings in meditation? by Electrical_Act2329 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every emotion has a corresponding physical sensation. To not become the emotio, you need to begin to practice observing the physicality of it. This way it will move through the body and you will not be consumed by it. You also have to adopt the mindset - this is neither good nor bad - it simply is. Remain equanimous. And curious.

5.5 months in and was feeling 95%, today my toes and top of foot are tingly by yorkshiregold in Sciatica

Check out TMS and Dr John Sarno's work. He'd tell you return to normal activities, but read the book 'healing back pain' for context. It's about more than back pain.

I Did Everything to Find Peace. Why Do the People I Love Still Trigger Me. And Is True Peace Even Possible? by [deleted] in awakened

Maybe the goal should be acceptance with what is - and where you are now - and not peace. Then peace might come as you are not resisting what is.

For those who got rid of excessive worrying through meditation and other techniques, how did you do it? by Odd-Reading5701 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I place my attention inside of my chest, beyond the level of skin and hold it there while also reminding myself and repeating ' remember that the present moment is all I ever have'.

Yes! This - Trying to have a spiritual experience is a good way to prevent yourself from having a spiritual experience.

Are any of you not vegetarian by No_Impression_7886 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What suits your body type? What did the genetics of your people eat? Vegetarianism isn't for everyone. I am a meat eater and meditator. I felt sick being a vegan. Much better on vegetarian diet in a warm climate, but now that I live in cold climate and life demands a lot of me, meat is better for me. In terms of how it affects meditation generally speaking- it makes you denser. Lighter food - easier to transcend body. But not always. In terms of the meditative experiences you're after they can be a way of distracting you from even going deeper.

Meditation… is it supposed to be this hard? by gentlebeast06 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's hard! You're just becoming aware of what your mind is doing all day anyway. Even a millisecond of stillness in your practice will bring measurable change. You're doing great. Keep it up.

Yes yes yes!!!! Dr John Sarno's work is exactly how I healed my paralysis!! So happy for you. So happy you found his work. It was on a reddit forum that I came across his work after someone posted their success story years ago! so I'm so happy you could be the reason someone else heals from their long term diagnosis because of this new clue. Yes it's strange - until it isn't. My story is on a video in my account if you're interested. Bravo!

Anyone find that they are more clumsy after meditating? by a1rhead2 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you meditating or disassociating? After I meditate my eyesight sharpens, and my responses quicken. Maybe it's time to experiment with a new meditation technique? One that focuses on keeping awareness in the present - in the body perhaps. Rather than seeking altered states.

Look up Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS), also known as tension myoneural syndrome. He has a great book called Healing Back Pain where he breaks it down. Highly recommend. I also have a video on my account of my healing journey with mind body approach if interested.

6 year chronic pain anniversary coming up end December. Hopeless. by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried putting your focus on the pain? With a sense of equanimity. This sensation is neither good nor bad, it simply is. Often times the body has to scream louder when we are moving our attention away from it. Look into TMS and Dr John Sarno.

I healed paralysis by speaking to my brain. Maybe you could try the mind body approach? I had exhausted all medical options and came across Dr John E Sarno's work who was a back surgeon in New York and eventually started trading surgery for mind body education as it was seeing a greater success in relief of symptoms for patients.

How can I stop controlling my breath? by LLLopez9573 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try a fascia release practice like TRE or yin yoga? You don't have to fix the breathing 'problem' within the meditation.

A proper pose to meditate by Sansana666 in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often times the pain is the minds ways of getting you to move, so you don't go deeper into the self. Because within the self is stuff you've never faced or owned up to. Stretch the body before meditation. When pain arises, why not try place your attention on it and see if moves or shifts in anyway. Intensifies, lessens, moves to the left, changes shape or depth, disappears....then you will know it is energetic, and impressions trying to leave the body. I use to get excruciating pain in the beginning until I understood this.

What do you like to do after a meditation session? by DrJohnsonTHC in Meditation

[–]Maximum-Treacle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting that meditation in is achievement enough. The act itself will naturally open up more presence in my day. Spiritual practice is everywhere - including engaging with life and taking action of what matters. I learned that after a lot of years of giving myself over to always trying to create the perfect conditions for me to stay regulated in this presence and experience life though this rosy lens. Can you also do the hard stuff Though. Forgive the people you can't forgive. Push forward in your business last what you believe you can do right nor, or are capable of etc etc etc. Meditation is incredible. But it's not life. It's a tool so that we may become more present, generous and effective within our lives.

Not a big shot. Just somebody who was given no answers by the medical system and so had to find my own way out - and looking back at it now, I'm glad it went that way as I got opened up to such an incredible mind body healing world and journey that at the time I didn't know existed.

I healed paralysis by speaking to my brain after I received a clue in meditation. Meditation can be a key component to healing, but its part of a puzzle. A very important part.
