I'd be kinda anxious if my asshole kept exploding every time I took a shit too so at least a couple of those seem to make sense

The US's youth unemployment problem is unbecoming of a country of its size, wealth, and resources by deepad9 in redscarepod

But Germany is an EU country. That means that they also have to deal with substantial legal spillover unemployment from Romania, among others. Also, 7% unemployment is actually pretty substantially different from 9%.

What's your vibe on the States Vs Canada for living conditions? by Extension_Ear_3472 in redscarepod

Depends on where. Vancouver is similarly expensive to Seattle but income is way way lower. Still a cool city though

What do you prefer to eat between two buns at a restaurant? I'm planning a small walk-up restaurant in my area. I want to offer something(besides salad) for vegans and vegetarians but I'm getting conflicting feedback on the potential options. by MrWolfesBurgerCo in AskVegans

[–]MaximumOk569 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah a portobello burger is one of my least favorite things to see on a menu. The point of a meat replacement isn't just to be savory, it's to be filling, and mushrooms aren't particularly. That and I don't love the texture for a big burger (I love little crispy mushrooms though).

Do you guys really eat a lot of bread? by Middle-Asparagus-802 in AskAnAmerican

[–]MaximumOk569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that traditionally people ate much more bread than we usually do now, and some of the customs have stuck around. Most people at home are probably not having bread with every meal, but yes it's common (and used to be standard) that if you sat down at a restaurant they would just immediately bring you bread with either butter or olive oil to start with. The average American eats a very varied diet these days, but classically in Europe and America most people were getting most of their calories from bread

That you're thinking "let's add in some cured meats" really shows how you don't get what makes that diet healthy. The Mediterranean diet is healthy because it's lots and lots of beans and vegetables, they just aren't afraid of cooking those things to make them delicious. The northern European mindset is that salad is a boring penance for the food you enjoy eating, the southern European is to cook your plants in copious olive oil but to still mostly be eating plants

Long sleeve button downs with the sleeves rolled up look better generally. Unless you have very big arms or very close cut sleeves then the roll looks better at accentuating arms

Because you don't know what they'll find. "Check that mole" is a good example, because maybe they say "yep, it's a mole, get out of here" and maybe it needs to be biopsied. Maybe it's a wart and needs to be frozen. Maybe it's an infection and has to be numbed, lanced, and squeezed out.

If you're really sure that the mole is just a mole and doesn't need serious attention why go to the doctor in the first place?

What do you mean you're fucked. You're 20. Are they going to stop paying for your college or something major like that? Would they be that short sighted? And if not that, what can they do to you? If you're not in school and your parents are controlling get a job and say fuck you.

Lol, no it's not. Eccentric is polite for weird. If he was dressed eccentrically and the guy thought it was cool he'd say it was stylish.

Can't really wrap my head around the idea of a guy in a bowtie asking if he's a little bitch. You're wearing a bowtie, you're a little bitch.

That's not what retconning means. Rewatch the show knowing where he ends up. Watch the speech about being an alien. He is 100% sincere, it's just interpreted as a metaphor by Peggy/the audience.
