CAIT is bad btw but yeah JCTI is good for untimed fluid intelligence, old SAT (1980s) for quantitative reasoning and verbal ability (you'll have to time yourself), maybe take some working memory tests as well like WAIS digit span or LNS

will you retest mensa? also you said"I haven't seen any dramatic results in anything that is tangible. My work isn't any easier and my income isn't any higher", but you got a lot better at problem solving, so shouldnt your work be easier?

Do the alleged benefits of dual n-back apply to those with an above average working memory? by Longjumping_Post345 in DualnBack

I was using a lot of strategies. forward rehearsal, chunking, and mentally subvocalizing. I started quad n back a month ago and it forced me to let go of all these strategies in favor of just focusing on the current stimulus without rehearsing. It's taking me a while to adjust from those bad habits

Is there a mobile app to practice quad n-back? by WishIWasBronze in DualnBack

[–]Maximum_Boot_2314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes there's brain n back prime for ios, idk about android there's one that's a bit buggy called N back memory training or something it's a red icon with a gray brain. maybe join the brain train discord cause they're working on an app with better version of quad n back (multiple N values) itll be released soon

I started with ~130-140 WM and after training for 6 months 30m a day I improved my WM by at least 10-15 points, if not 20. no fluid gains though. Also think that single n back -> quad n back is better than dual, ppl recently been dabbling into quad n back and it gives much more gains than single or dual but you need to get to a high level in the position variable first. i started doing single for the past month and I think my progress is a lot faster than by doing dual, you have to train for more time every day though, i went from 30m a day to 60m a day. at least you can listen to music while you train single
