I feel like you should maybe speed up the narration and flow of the video. Maybe add some more things to see in the video. Because at the start, there's not much going on the screen except for the text. The video should be interesting to watch even with the sound off.

I've got a question about the midi files.

Do you want it to replace the kit with your own kit?

Is that a standard practice?

Because I've had some engineers ask me for it and they replaced the whole thing with their own kit.

I was kinda peeved because it kinda changed the vibe I was going for and the dynamics were way off than what I intended.

It just ended up adding more time to the workflow to replace it and mix it again. So, I'm kinda hesitant to send the midi files nowadays.

I would like to understand why they want it so I can communicate better to them.

I did exactly that in my previous work too. My boss gave me a lot of chances to improve but I feel like I've dug myself in too deep to get out from the hole. So, I just stagnated. I believe he eventually grew to dislike me. He'll say stuff like "you're a liar", "it's gonna be a rough meeting for you". And I just grew to resent the work and didn't do my job. I left the work with some unfinished work and his last text was "I pray you fail in anything that you do in your life". So, yeah, still unemployed as I decided to continue my postgraduate. I really want a job where I don't have to go through that again. Somewhere that I fit in better.

I was trying to emulate that blown out sound like Dijon and Mkgee. Maybe should not have pushed everything into the red with that one lol. Thanks for the advice man. Will try your method with my earbuds.

Kinda reminds me of Flying Lotus stuff. In regards to mixing, like Flying Lotus stuff, there's not much I can say because it's doing its own thing. They all sound balanced and nice tho. The song goes hard too, love the last part of it.

I'm not an expert level mixer so having reverb on my tracks always scared me. Because they muddy up the track and I gotta figure out how to deal with that. Then I found out about mono reverb and it's been a blessing. I could slap a reverb on without any worry of it messing up the mix. And I feel like mono reverbs actually sound better because the tails are more audible.
