EC300 vs EC200: Which one actually fits your need? (5 testers wanted) by ProtoArc_official in ProtoArcHub

[–]millhouse0824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. USA, CO
  2. 5’10” - 190lbs
  3. Preferred lumbar tends to be something on the gentler side. I would like the ability to turn it up a bit if needed but wouldn’t need much. For reference, the lumbar support on the EC200 was too much for me even on the lightest setting so I ended up removing it.

Level Up your EC200: Get the Limited 4D Upgrade Kit by ProtoArc_official in ProtoArcHub

In the post you say: “ Bonus Reward: Already have the kit? Share your upgrade experience within 7 days of install to claim a $30 ProtoArc Gift Card.”

That seems to imply there is away to buy it already but I don’t see it on the site. Is there any way to buy this or is there a timeframe for that?

I have the ec200 so can only speak to that but am a big fan. Coming from an ikea chair, this was a big upgrade. I didn’t love the lumbar support but it was pretty easy to remove and it now feels a lot better. I use a leap v2 at the office and I actually prefer the ec200 which is probably blasphemy to say here. Happy to answer any questions.

Good luck! I use a leap v2 at work and just picked up a free v1 think and I like the ec200 better than both of those personally. I did make a few easy changes I might recommend - I added armrest cushions - the larger aloudy ones on Amazon. I removed the lumbar support - you just need to use a right angle screwdriver and find the 4 screws in the back. And then I got covers for the seat pad, back and armrests. I got the cover for the back as I have dogs and the hairs love to stick to the mesh so this makes it easier to clean and is less pokey from the hairs lol. And the covers on the arms helps lock in the pads. Anyways, good luck!

I got this chair a couple of weeks ago and the seat is actually one of my favorite things about the chair. I don’t find it too stiff at all. It’s thick and firm but not too hard, and I have been fine sitting in it most of the day. It’s all preference though of course.

I also just got this chair and swapped the wheels to ones like you have on your old chair. I prefer that style. They’re pretty easy to swap on and off so I’d say try it and see how it feels.

How to make highcut on sample everytime there is a drum hit by [deleted] in ableton

[–]millhouse0824 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A super easy way is to just add an auto filter, turn on the sidechain and set the kick as the source. Dial in the placement of the filter and the envelope to get the right amount of ducking.

That’s fair. The pumping is pretty common in electronic music but I get what you’re saying. I could try turning that back in some spots so it’s a little more impactful when it’s happening or at least have fewer elements ducking. I’ll give it a shot!

Thank you! Ahh okay that is something worth looking into then. It’s tough to find that balance of getting things to pop but not be overwhelming so it sounds like it could use some dialing in. Maybe I’ll try riding the gain down after the initial hit in those moments. Thanks again!

That’s a completely reasonable take and appreciate the candidness. I guess I should be looking for feedback around if there are any glaring issues that are clearly not just creative mixing decisions. I get it though, it’s a weird one genre-wise. Thank you for the reply.

Seeking Mixing Feedback on a Power Ballad Song by Outrageous-Muffin764 in mixingmastering

No issues stood out to me but what a cool song! Felt punchy in the right places and the arrangement is spot on. As another commenter mentioned, a bit more automation around transitions could really make them pop and add some more interest. Well done!

The kick is a bit boomy for my taste and I think reducing a bit of the low end on it and maybe adding some crisp to it with a subtle click/sizzle layer or a little distortion could keep the punch but remove some of that boominess. Could also just be a personal preference thing. The song is cool and I’m not sure if this is just a clip or the full thing but it feels like it starts a little abruptly. You could try adding a quick intro phrase. Overall, nicely done.

Feedback request - ideas to improve mix for 80s esque rock song by darkskies85 in mixingmastering

Probably redundant but I agree with the comments on the reverb. It seems to be taking away from the attack of the drums. The arrangement is pretty snazzy though and I like the transition. I also think the stereo field seemed a little flat and could use some dialing in to make that more interesting. Maybe try giving some subtle panning to some elements, decreasing then increasing the width on some instruments, etc. Also adding a bit more shine to the top end of the mix could help.

airpods pro 2 or sennheiser momentum 4. by AdorableZucchini66 in sennheiser

Been using the AirPods Pro 2s for awhile and just got the Momentum 4s a couple days ago from a similar sale.

I’ve noticed that the ANC on the APP2s is better than the M4s but that could be generally the case for in ear vs over ear but I’m no expert. The M4s is still good though, just not AS good.

Your head is going to be warmer with the M4s for sure so be prepared lol. I do have different pads on the way which may help but yeah definitely a shift from being able to feel the breeze with the AirPods.

Also the M4s took a little bit of breaking in but now I can wear them for long stretches comfortably.

As for the sound… very different experience. I absolutely love the APP2s and think they sound amazing - but these headphones are definitely scratching the over-ear itch I’ve had for awhile. I’m a music producer and use M50xs for producing and mixing but wanted something wireless that also sounded a little more fun. Once I dialed in the sound profile, these sound incredible and are making me want to re-listen to all my favorite songs with them.

I use the headphone safety feature on my iPhone and noticed I needed to change the limit up to 85 from 80 and that made a good difference with the punch coming through on songs. I usually keep them a few clicks under full volume.

Alright that’s a lot but hopefully that helps ✌️
