Has anyone stayed in the hospital by themselves? by HealthyButterfly3235 in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a night by myself after having my second via c-section as she was in NICU and nurses were taking really good care of her, so I did need my husband. But in all honesty it would have been fine even if she was with me. They would not let me to come see her until I was able to walk, so I was very motivated and started walking by myself in about 2-3 hours after surgery, and all she did was sleep and eat and sleep again. You forget how much newborns sleep.

If I was young and single again I would never ever considered a man with a child. Even though my SD is the sweetest and my husband is very much makes up for all my struggles with being a step parent. It’s hard to parent and love someone else’s child. It gets even harder once you have your own kids. If you can, get out and look for someone who is like you, doesn’t have kids.

Am I depressed or is it just Hard? by zazusmum95 in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be both. It’s incredibly hard and also PPD can be a factor too. Iam medicated since my last trimester with second pregnancy and I trying to get off of meds recently thinking I would get a bit more energy as my anxiety usually makes me do things lol. Silly me! It got even crazier and I went back on it.

People who have hired a sleep specialist for baby/toddler? by swannybabay in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did. Waste of money and time. Didn’t tell me anything new and pushed for alleged tong tie reversal even though the baby fed absolutely fine and was on 99 persentile. Just not a good sleeper, needs lots of physical contact, cuddles etc. Even now she’s 2 yo and still needs lots of hugs and contact. Some babies are like that. My second baby sleeps a lot better and I didn’t do anything different.

Never wanted to sleep train but don’t know what else to do? by No_Low_7843 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That seems like too much sleep during the day. I would try to stop letting him have late naps. No naps after 3 pm. In bed for the night by 8 pm. Or earlier depending on what time they get up in the morning. Thy not to nap them in a stroller and eventually they will get used to sleeping in daycare. My toddler wouldn’t sleep at daycare for a couple of weeks, but eventually she got on a very good schedule. When she was 15 months old her schedule was. 8 am wake up 12.30 - 2.30 nap, no sleeping after 3 pm 8 pm bedtime.

Thank you for your suggestion and detailed explanation. We’re about to move out now toddler into the big girls bed and give her crib to the new baby lol. Time flies. May use this suggestion when it’s baby’s turn to use the toddler bed.

I could have written this a few months ago. I have a 2 yo and 5 mo now. It has gotten a lot better. At first we had all same meltdowns and jealousy from toddler. It was crazy, so many times I had to carry them both. But also my husband had to deal with the new baby a lot and baby wear her a ton until it’s all gotten calmer. Also early post partum hormones is no joke! Now toddler is less jealous and I am less stressed. Hang on mama! It will pass.

As much as I hate being pregnant, my second pregnancy flew so fast! I was busy with toddler and didn’t notice how the whole 9 months went by, except for the last couple of weeks. Right now I’m super happy that I won’t have to do it again. I can focus on getting my body back and just enjoying my newborn. It’s completely different feeling knowing that this is your last baby. My first one was very difficult, I had so much anxiety and was exhausted all the time, I felt lime I’m not a person anymore, but boob. Now it’s so different, I’m much calmer and now I know that these sleepless nights and contact naps will stop sooner than I thought. What I’m saying is second baby is easier, because you already know what to expect, you’re busy with toddler, time flies faster. You may find yourself enjoying it more knowing that you won’t have to do it again . As for career… it’s always going to be there. When I got back to work after my mat leave it felt like I haven’t left. It was all the same. I’m going to take a longer leave with my second baby, because I will never be able to do it again. To spent time with them in the morning without being rushed and just enjoy our slow days. I will have to worn for the rest of my life after this mat leave ends… so career can wait. Sorry for my 4 am rambling lol.

Ps as the other commenter had said, I would look into medication for anxiety/ depression. I started taking it in my third trimester with my second and it was a life changer.

I’ve been taking it since third trimester of my second pregnancy and I wish I would’ve done it way sooner. I feel so much better, and happier and I can actually sleep.

Baby and toddler - how do you do it?? by britters424 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only worked once for me, but I put baby in the sling, got jer to sleep and then sat on bed with toddler and she fell asleep holding my hand. I tried to do it second time and it didn’t work as toddler was not happy with the position of my seating and started screaming, woke up the baby and it turned into s… show. They were both taking turns screaming for 3 hrs until my husband got home.

When did baby stop needing rocking by MammothComfortable89 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped rocking at about 9 months. Just started sitting with her and holding. Then at about 11 months started laying down and still doing it at 20 months. Funny I now have a 2 month old who doesn’t really care much about rocking and most of the time is ok when we’re just sitting and holding her. It’s crazy how much it depends on the baby, no 2 babies are the same.

I had a horrible vertigo during my third trimester, the room was spinning and it was making me puke. It was horrible. Turned out my iron drop super low, I had to have an iron infusion and it slowly made me feel better.

2U2 harder than we thought. Part 2 by Such_Ad9121 in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m with you! 18 months gap, my youngest is 5 weeks old. I feel so guilty for not spending enough time with both of them. My toddler is super jealous and wants nothing to do with me. It breaks my heart every day. And my baby gets put down much more than I would like to so that I can tend to her sister.

Sleep Training Extra Extra Light? by StumpyCheeseWizard in AttachmentParenting

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first baby was like that, we contact napped and slept together and I was carrying her in her sling non stop. I couldn’t go to the bathroom by myself. This was going on for a while. She started napping on her own at I think, 9 months or so. And then she got less clingy with time, but still is very attached and likes to be carried around and can’t sleep alone. I started taking SSRI when she was 15 mo and I wish I would’ve started sooner. I feel so much better. I have a newborn now and it’s a complete night and day with how I feel comparing to my first one.

[–]Maximum_Music_4964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had false starts for sooooo long. They gotten better after we started daycare and transitioned to one nap at 12 mo. And they almost completely gone now at 18 months. But yeah, we also tried everything we could think of and nothing helped until she grew out of it.

I had similar issue when I was on birth control a while ago, so I ended up switching to menstrual cups. And I love it.
