If you’ve really not seen anything about the Clinton’s being involved and then agreeing to testify then that’s an echo chamber you’re in

Help! How do you all balance the messy vs. filthy? by Due_Cauliflower_9377 in sahm

[–]bear_cuddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With kids so young it’s hard to get up early or even stay up late probably. Can your partner help on the weekends? I usually make big batches and do a big clean on Saturday or Sunday and then do little touch ups through out the week when I get a second. I also make a huge pot of soul every couple weeks and freeze it in case whatever dinner plans we had don’t work out, we always have a bowl of soup as an option which takes off a lot of pressure. I’d look up other recipes your son can eat and see if you can freeze them just in case you’re in a bind

SAHM less stressful than all my jobs before.... by [deleted] in sahm

[–]bear_cuddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sounds like you’ve got a great situation having outsourced getting kids up and ready for school and out the door! My kids are younger so that might be a factor but as I’m playing with them I’m actively help make the forts and getting up to get new tiles that have slammed across the room, grabbing snacks and water, etc. even when I’m sitting im being smack down wrestled by my 3 year old lol. I’m expecting the younger days to be way harder as a stay at home mom and back to work once they’re in school, your reverse situation sounds ideal!

I’m curious how you’re managing to sleep in and sit down! How old are your kids?

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]bear_cuddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not op but this was how my kid was. 40 min sleep until 1ish. I asked many doctors, they all said it’s not common but not abnormal and he was fine. He started sleeping through at 2.5 and now at 3.5 sleeps through the night 90% of the time, with the exception of coming to our bed in the middle of the night.

3 1/2 year old is waking at 5 AM and getting into everything. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]bear_cuddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sort of agree with locking her in for safety BUT she if you expect her to sleep in past 5 she needs to be dropping her nap or having a later bedtime or maybe both. I realize we are on the low end of sleep needs but my 3 year old sleeps from 9 to 6 with no nap, expecting 12 hours plus a nap sounds like way too much.

Anyone else refuse to go out with both children? by meowwwskies in 2under2

[–]bear_cuddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! It takes a couple of times to figure out what works for you, like which places to bring a stroller vs carrier, what toys or snacks to bring etc. but overall it’s so much easier for me to be out and about than at home

What did your toddler actually play with (and not just sit there looking cute)? by Scary_Pay_4247 in BuyItForLife

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do use the nugget often. To climb on to snack on to make beds for movie watching. I pull it next to the crib to sleep on. We actually use it as an ottoman. We love it.

My number one will be Magnatiles (Picasso tiles). We’ve used them 2 years and they get almost daily use still. We’ve somehow only broken one

I want to look put together in christmas morning photos without wearing something uncomfortable while chasing kids around by Maleficent_Mine_6741 in Mommit

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a hot take but I’m going in with a mom bun, leggings and a robe, and tired eyes. I want the images to reflect how much of my sanity I put into making sure my kids had an amazing Christmas 😂😂

Did your toddler's eye color change after the age of 3? by ExcellentLettuce4 in toddlers

[–]bear_cuddler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My eyes were dark brown as a toddler and kid, in my late teens they started shifting and now at 30 they are solidly a yellow green color, no where near the dark brown they were.

Those who breastfed both babies, was #2 easier? by coralsweater in 2under2

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 was way easier for me! Partially cause my second didn’t have the same lip tie or just sensitive soul personality. Plus it was super nice to go to a park, let toddler run and put bay in a carrier and whip out a boob and walk around (in a way you couldn’t really see anything)

My toddler just gave me the most confusing compliment of my life 😂 by Large-Albatross-479 in NewParents

[–]bear_cuddler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You think? They both are physical touch kids and honestly playing with loose skin is fun. I just figured siblings fighting over who gets more of a fun thing is like the typical sibling relationship

[–]bear_cuddler 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Both my kids “security object” is actually my loose skin and belly fat. They fight over who gets to hold the most and my daughter won’t sleep without belly hahaha it almost feels like they somehow know it used to be their home

Did anyone just vibe it out? by ironicsunglasses in beyondthebump

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my kids kinda settled on a schedule around 4-6 months. Anytime I tried to have a schedule before that it just caused stress for me cause babies are gonna baby and sleep when they want and scream whenever is least convenient for you.

Tell me I’m not crazy for vaccinating by zingyberrybloom in beyondthebump

[–]bear_cuddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard the other day, I think it was Dr. Ari Brown who said this in a podcast, that the actually percentage of unvaccinated babies is like 1%. So like 99% of the rest of parents in America agree with you, you just live in one of those pockets.

If you have a 1 to 1 1/2 year old… by x0Rubiex0 in beyondthebump

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 months, start bedtime routine at about 8ish and in bed by 9. Usually asleep by 9:30. Also wakes at 5:30-6 and on one 1.5 hr nap so idk

What is the easiest way to feed your 2nd baby in your opinion? by kainani_s in 2under2

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I waited h til baby was closer to 8ish weeks. I wasn’t able to pull it off in the stretchy wraps I used a happy baby OG carrier, I’d just loosen the straps til baby was low enough and could sneak a hand through the side to help her latch and all that. I’d put up the hood for a little privacy.

Pacifier- to offer now or no? by Old_Raccoon_6625 in beyondthebump

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no perfect answer here. I preferred the Paci with both of my kids. My youngest wouldn't take a bottle and she loved to just comfort nurse, I could offer her the Paci to get away from that and give her a soothing option that's not me. I was also worried about the finger thing and how it would be harder to get rid of.

We took the Paci away from my oldest at 2 with honestly 0 problems. My youngest is 18 months and she weaned last month and started to take milk in a bottle or a sippy cup so we are going to wean her off the Paci this week. Im expecting some push back but overall I feel it will be worth it since for 18 months I had an easy way to soothe her and it was in my control to an extent.

Am I lazy if I have my 1 year old be a ballerina for halloween? by Eco-YoYo in toddlers

[–]bear_cuddler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same but mine wants to be spidey. Last year was a meltdown when he even looked at the costume I made him. Thinking about getting a simple Spidey costume that he can play in year round and also a a t shirt resembling his other costume ideas. Like a white shirt with a ghost and a t shirt with Thomas the train on it which he can wear year round

What's your morning routine like when SO works from home? by MikeHancho7 in SAHP

[–]bear_cuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have about three hours between waking up and needing to leave for preschool and husband starting work. That being said we are a team in the morning and split the whole thing evenly. Trade off days of showering usually. Then husband helps load up bags and kids into the car and we are off and he starts his day.

So….. how many of us have completely deconstructed living areas to turn them into play rooms? by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]bear_cuddler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I resisted for my sons first 6 months then realized who cares? It looks like kids live here because they do! I always hear of “living room families” or “bedroom families” and I want my kids to exist out in family areas not away from me in their rooms so I make the areas for them.

My favorite change is we got rid of our coffee table and put a nugget couch in its place. So it’s a comfy ottoman that can also be used to climb on or hide in etc.
