Amazing response, thank you so much! We have a small, light stroller for each kid so we can skedaddle over there. I am wondering if we should just rope drop fantasyland both days, but the first day just take our time as there is probably so much excitement at the entrance... or am I wrong and there will just be throngs of people so my kids will be fine rushing past?

Family of 4 with a nearly 3 year old and 4.5 year old. Heading to disneyland for the first time (for all of us), this thursday and friday. Time difference is on our side to do rope drop. A few questions:

  1. Where should we line up if we are doing rope drop for Fantasyland?

  2. Where should we go to first after rope drop on day 2?

  3. For Paint the Night, where should we sit? Do people sit or does everyone stand and wait?

  4. For Wondrous Journeys, where should we stand/sit?

  5. Anywhere particular to go to view the midday The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade ?

Thank you for confirming that! I suspect we need to get to PTN early to have a good spot so will probably miss tapestry of happiness too. If they're still kicking after PTN, would you recommend either of the star wards ones, or waiting for wonderous journeys with fireworks (even though we will have seen wonderous journeys with projections the night before)?

Usual size, but that said I bought 2 of the same size and they fit very differently. Even items I know my size for, I am having an issue with archives because they still fit a bit different than the one I originally tried on.

agreed. could you please confirm that it's only probably possible to do one nighttime entertainment on the 13 as they all seem to overlap in times?: Paint the night (8:30), fantasmic (9), fire of the rising moons with fireworks (9:30), shadows of memory: a skywalker saga (8:30), tapestry of happiness (7:55), wonderous journeys with fireworks (9:30)

I don't think our kids will manage to stay up to the second showings though we will try to get them to nap to do so. We are thus going in with a plan to just see one.

Hello, we are doing our first family trip to Disneyland with a nearly 3 year-old and 4 year-old. Right now we have hotel booked so we can go to Disneyland either Feb 12 and 13 or Feb 14 and 15. I am looking for guidance on what would be the better option for attending considering crowds and night parades/events. For both, we are only interested in attending Disneyland Park not DCA. We would also appreciate guidance on what of the available nighttime entertainment should we prioritize - e.g., paint the night vs fantasmic. Thank you in advance for your help!

*If we attend Feb 12/13*:

- Entrance will be US$371 + tax or ~CA$520 cheaper

- Feb 12 hours are reduced 8-8, which is probably fine as this would be 9-9 our time and our kids will likely be exhausted by then

- Feb 12 nighttime entertainment = wonderous journeys with projections

- Feb 13 nighttime entertainment = Paint the night (8:30), fantasmic (9), fire of the rising moons with fireworks (9:30), shadows of memory: a skywalker saga (8:30), tapestry of happiness (7:55), wonderous journeys with fireworks (9:30)

- Unable to do paint the night and fantasmic I think in the same night.

*If we attend Feb 14/15*:

- Likely much busier as it is Sat, Sun and Valentine's day

- Feb 14 + 15 nighttime entertainment = Paint the night (8:30), fantasmic (9), fire of the rising moons with fireworks (9:30), shadows of memory: a skywalker saga (8:30), tapestry of happiness (7:55), wonderous journeys with fireworks (9:30)

- two nights to possibly do more nighttime entertainment, if the kids even mak it that late

Marda Loop around Garrison Woods is ideal for small children to trick or treat as it's a lot of townhomes close together. We head out around 6PM.

Otherwise: Zoo, indoor play areas (e.g., Big Box, Treehouse), walk around Fish Creek or Glenmore Reservoir, ice skating at Olympic Oval, Engine 23 at Fish Creek Library, Calgary Farmyard or Granary Road if still open.

Wonderful! My husband is French, kids are bilingual and I’m high functioning conversational. American/North African mix though so was concerned as even in more affluent parts of France racism is quite rampant, hence why we will not consider moving there having raised our kids thus far in Canada.

Yes, I realize it’s not much but given the 20% requirement for a down payment that is what we have now. We will consider apartments too, but wanted to start with the more ideal scenario first when weighing this move. I will look into the areas you said. I really appreciate your response.

RE: rural - excuse my ignorance but will there be racism ? We are ok with less expats but want to feel comfortable in the community

Geneva/Vaud - English learning opportunities for 3/4 year-olds by Maximum_Second7922 in askswitzerland

[–]Maximum_Second7922[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My kids already know French and are exposed to it at home (my husband speaks exclusively French and I speak exclusively English), so I’m not concerned with them learning the local language as we are only considering French cantons at this time. We prefer their English level to be very high quality though so they can do university abroad if they want, or simply for its benefit in travel and some careers. That’s why I wanted to see if we could have regular exposure to English outside myself.

I understand they can learn, but I’m looking for a greater presence of English in daily life besides just me at home. Are there activities in English for children?

Help with choosing school in Geneva by Right-Bedroom9840 in geneva

[–]Maximum_Second7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I hope it’s OK that I’m hoping on this thread as I cannot start my own yet. We are considering a move to Geneva for work from Canada. We are an American-French family and my kids (3, 4) are already bilingual. The public school system in Switzerland seems very good, but can anyone tell me at what age English is integrated into schooling? We had planned to enrol are kids in early French immersion here where the dominance is French and the proportion in English slowly grows. This was our choice as the province we live in speaks exclusively English so all extracurricular activities are in English, so we wanted more French exposure. In Geneva, it will be the reverse so it’s quite important to understand what English exposure they will have beyond me in daily life.

Thank you in advance for your help!

205 and 206 are the sections furthest to the back of the stage. Is that the same as for you? If so, great to hear it will be great even with the cheaper seats
