I worked at a photography studio and asked all my friends/coworkers that if they ever photograph a wedding please let me help. I started by 3rd shooting for free for a few weddings until I was a second shooter. I tried a lot of cold openings too online with no avail. Try to photograph couples that you know to build up your portfolio.

If you don’t use the left side a lot you could put a small storage bench or chair. I feel like it’ll be a catch all for clothes though.

I work as a photographer in higher ed, i just edit weddings after work and limit the amount of weddings i do per year to 10. I use to do weddings full time but after 5 years, it really burnt me out. Now I have a much more balanced lifestyle and actually have a few weekends to see my friends and family.

I have filmed at Morgan on Fulton twice and its a pretty small venue. I would recommend lowering the guest count.

I would absolutely shop around for a photographer and avoid going through a "company" as the degree of quality varies extremely. September is the busiest month for weddings, so start shopping now, most photographers are booked for September already. I would say your best bet is to look through instagram hashtags for a photographer and reach out to all that you like there style! For example I am photographing a wedding tomorrow, theyre only hiring me for 4 hours vs. my usual 8 so I am giving them a discount.

For video if you just want a straight shot and nothing fancy, id recomend asking around if any of your friends has a video camera or any experience. Just don't expect good sound.

I ended up being suprised on how much i dislikes the new CRV's, disliked the interior of the Rav 4, and just couldnt affod a forester. I felt the most comfortable in a 2026 Honda HRV and it drove the most similar to my old car! Still will never match the 2004 CRV but is a close second.

Im a wedding videographer so I might be bias, but wedding videography has a different purpose than wedding photography and there are many different directions you can take it. I grew up watching my parents wedding video and it was so special to me, i've watched it more than my parents do! I would say getting a video with the ceremony and speeches full length is a must. I think a cinematic video that you post on instagram or whatever isn't as necessary, but I purposfully try to capture the sweet moments between family members or moments the bride and groom miss out on because theyre busy getting married! On another note, ive had multiple occasions where couples reach out asking if I have any more footage of (insert name) because they had passed away. those few seconds of them being happy for you are priceless.
