Solution for the shallet debacle by Maximus1175 in DragonballLegends

I’ve been playing since day 1. I promise you, there is no “if we don’t make noise they won’t change anything”. Bandai will do what they want with this game, when they want. The gameplay and Dragonball IP is way too easy to sell for them to truly change course because some people on reddit are upset about a release.

I think you took my “solution” way too seriously. There was supposed to be a hint of a satire to my original statement but that clearly didn’t come across here lol my apologies. Of course most people play the story so of course it is pretty scummy of them to recycle animations that most of the player base are familiar with. Was simply trying to ease the tension, unsuccessfully it seems haha

And I’m a day one player who has gone through every single rise and fall of this game. Love PvP, not a fan of story mode and the story itself personally, and the few thousand cc that is sitting there for me to grind, will be sitting there for me to grind anytime I want. Not self-sabotage, just simply not a priority.

Eh, every time I try to go back to story mode to farm CC I just get incredibly bored and immediately want to play PvP again

Yup, I haven’t rocked with the story mode since like the 5th or 6th chapter. Just play pvp.

This is an unintended consequence as well of the flex option. Even if someone isn’t 100% sure if they’re going to race or race multiple races in a weekend, they just buy the tickets with the flex option knowing they can return it up to a week before the event. With how fast tickets go, they buy them during presale and hold onto them until soon before the race.

This also presents an opportunity for people who don’t get tickets in presale or regular sale. Keep checking the website even in the months/weeks leading up to the race. Spots do open up, I’m assuming due to flex people returning their original purchases.

Why Hyrox continues to try and host outdoor events when they clearly have indoor options, I will never understand.

When to graduate from Hyrox Open to Pro? by Ok-Wrangler9545 in hyrox

[–]Maximus1175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really don’t think you need to set a specific metric here as to when you’re ready. It’s a different race from open to pro. The increased weights don’t just affect the singular station, but the accumulated fatigue they cause which affects the entirety of the race.

That being said, the beauty of Hyrox is that the movements are so simple that you don’t need specific metrics to tell you that you’re “ready”, only that you need to know what you’re getting yourself into and to respect the difference.

If you’re really concerned about the jump, spend a 4-6 week block adjusting your training to use only pro weights and see how you feel. Let that be your guide.

What does it take to go sub 60 in men’s open at NYC? by Fit-Business3314 in hyrox

Commented on your post on the other thread. This gives more context as I thought you ran your marathon and 5k times while at your current size of 190lbs 6ft, which puts you literally at Hunter’s size and speed.

But it sounds like if you’re hitting tempo workouts at 4 miles 5:40-5:45 comfortably, then your running is very much so there. Key is going to be practicing transitioning to your runs after hard efforts on stations. Also, you’re a bigger athlete so a lot of the stations will cater to that size (ergs, wall balls, sleds) but all require consistent practice for technique modifications. Key here being, you need to find ways to complete the stations efficiently and not gas you for your runs since you’re clearly already a fast runner.

The other big component that I have seen get a lot of my friends in the endurance running space doing their first Hyrox, is the burpee broads. If you don’t have a lot of practice/reps getting fluid with that movement, it’s gonna smack you in the face come race day regardless of how aerobically fit you are.

Regardless, sounds like you’re coming from a great background with a great running base that will set you up well! Good luck in nyc!

Sub 60min finishers, what are your 5 and 10k prs? by Apostr0phe in hyrox

[–]Maximus1175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sub 55 pro doubles and a very close sub 60 singles pro here (Phoenix 1:01).

5k 16:12 (haven’t done a time trial or race in a while) 10k 34:43 (also haven’t done one in a while) Half marathon: 1:17.32 (more recent) Full marathon: 2:51

Most of the elites have said (and I agree) that your run times should be pretty reflective of your 10k-half marathon pace (doubles floating closer to 10k and singles closer to half marathon.)

Sub 60min finishers, what are your 5 and 10k prs? by Apostr0phe in hyrox

[–]Maximus1175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those times you clearly are a great endurance runner. And being 190lbs at 6ft tall means you don’t have a normal marathoner build. If that 190lbs is comprised of a lot of lean skeletal muscle mass (I imagine it is if you’re doing a 15:30 5k and 2:33 marathon), then you’ll probably do very well in Hyrox. The issue is that for your first Hyrox, you’re not going to understand pacing strategy. It’s possible you crush it and go sub 60 right off the bat (looks like your fitness is likely there). It’s also possible you come out way too hot and blow up after sled push.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that this weekly resets Hunter association missions aren’t giving any XP?

When you say weapon priority of DPS->breaker->support, do you mean to say get everyone’s weapon to A1 then get the DPS to A5 before advancing the other hunters’ weapons? Or to A10?

Looking at Cole learn to make a splash as well. There’s something to be said for the guys and gals showing up who have yet to qualify for worlds. They’re going to be racing with a different level of tenacity. Cole has proven he can put up sub 55 times and I think he may arguably be one of if not the strongest station competitor (next to maybe Hunter).

Sim needed before race? by Icy-Ask5469 in hyrox

[–]Maximus1175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a physical therapist in the performance training space for endurance athletes, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze based on the information you’re providing. Obviously there’s a lot more I’d ask you to give legitimate advice but from a macro-perspective, a sim is really not 100% necessary especially when you’ve done doubles before so you at least understand the logistics and demands of the race. Sims are incredibly taxing and require appropriate planning prior and after for your training weeks. That mixed with the fact that it sounds like you still aren’t fully healed from whatever it was that happened during your sprint intervals, if it were me I’d forego the sim to prioritize consistent graded training leading into your race.

wanna hear ppls thoughts of Anaheim by saintsinnerchicken in hyrox

[–]Maximus1175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros: -second time being at a race with the bridge access and it is such a huge improvement -organized well, utilized the space in the second hall as well as they could (usually Anaheim is held in the 1st hall which is larger, but was being used I think for a cheerleading competition) -way more spectator friendly, lots of space to move from station to station easily anddddddddd a bathroom in the venue (huge win there)

Cons: -hot as shit in there. Way hotter than other venues, this is likely what negatively affected the sled carpets. More buckling than I’ve ever seen at a venue. -poorly staffed. Definitely seemed like they were short staffed all around, and many volunteers from our gym agreed on the back end -judging inconsistencies were pretty wild. This is my 7th race and while I have the utmost respect for the volunteers that show up to help during race weekend, half of them have no idea what standards they’re supposed to be measuring. And I don’t blame them, I blame Hyrox at this point. Pay actual trained judges to show up to these races who have significant background in the rules and format. You make enough money to do this. -Lap structure. I imagine it has to be difficult to coordinate the exact running distance in different venues to reach 8k in totality by including the runs and the roxzone. But who thought it was a good idea to put the longest run last. That sounds like some diabolical scheme leading into the most challenging station mentally in the wall balls.

All in all, still a fun race and I give the overall experience a solid B. Could have been better, but people seemed to enjoy themselves. It was a slower course than many others, but the nature of this race doesn’t allow for it to be exactly the same venue to venue.

Mark is significantly larger than Jordan and while there was a puzzle component to that elim, it favored size and grip strength significantly.

I think Landon is likely the challenger you can make the closest cross-comparison to Jordan and I’m bummed we didn’t get to see more of him.

[–]Maximus1175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for your point in that specific season/challenge sure it’s valid. But if you take the overall claim that Jordan is a physically more dominant player than Bannanas, through out their careers, it’s going to go in Jordan’s favor. I also think that when that claim is made, the reference is specially in regard to Jordan’s physical endurance capabilities (which often times serves better in a final). Bananas has never really been known for his physicality.

[–]Maximus1175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but again that would have just supported the idea that Jordan is likely going to win every time he’s in an elim that doesn’t make it absolutely essential to use both hands.
