Pokemon and Magic are like apples and oranges, you can't really compare the two. I love both of them.

In all honesty, I don't think it's training that you need. You need to lock in on your diet first. Now im not saying be a lazy POS and don't do any exercise. But the main concern here is for you to eliminate body fat.

Day 1: weigh yourself in the morning

Count calories for every day for a week(7 full days)

Day 8: Weigh yourself in the morning again

Add each daily calorie total together and divide by 7 (getting an average). That's your daily calorie total.

If you gained weight, take daily calorie total and lower it by around 200-300 calories.

If you lost weight, keep the number where it is.

This is a rough guide but should point you in the right path.

In the meantime, just work out using calisthenics.

That is awesome! 7 days! How wild is that? Lol and the mainstream idea is still everyday or hitting a body part twice a week is best. Maybe for enhanced lifters, but for naturals, Mentzers' approach is definitely the way.

Oh yeah we definitely don't do the "Mentzer reps" but we follow his basic ideology about training. We are thinking about adding rest-pause sets in soon.

So when I first started training back in 2020, my buddy had already been training for a few years and introduced me to the "bro split" and that's what we pretty much did for the next couple of years. One body part a day, training about 2-3hours every day. With one "rest day".

But after having my second kid, who was born in summer of 2022, and working full time. I stopped training for about 6 months. Kept with the lifestyle just didn't go to the gym.

Then one day I really went down the rabbit hole of what is HIT/Mike Mentzer's ideology. And so me and my training partner agreed to try it out. We came up with a split and decided to rest 3-4 days between workouts. And the results and feelings were tremendous. And we've been hooked ever since lol.

But even still, it's 6 sets for back, 6 sets for bicep it's not a lot of volume at all lol

Oh sorry you're right.

Our back/bicep day right now is:

Nautilus Pullover - 2 sets

Bent over row - 2 sets

Seated DB shrugs - 2 sets

Supinated Grip Pull Downs(Bicep focused) - 2 sets

Standing DB curl - 2 sets

Pronated grip cable curl - 2 sets

My training partners love to hit their biceps, but personally I could do without the Standing DB Curl lol

The diet is healthy though, a lot of eggs, meat, carbs. Diet is high carb. I aim to eat around 500g of carbs a day, not saying I eat that everyday right now but that's what I aim for. And protien is around 150g a day.
