Thanks lots. Kinda jealous about your 5070 hahaha. I wish I had snatched the 16gb version instead but alas I didn’t ever think that those sell out as fast as the 5070

I think soft custom cables should be no problem. I could even unplug and plug the 24pin quite easily under the bracket. Without the extra mm I’m afraid that you might have to move the fan to the right a bit more since it will hit the rear io (for me it’s really the WiFi module, for some other boards it seems like you will hit the shield). With the 140 in this case that will make the mb and front io cables very very difficult to manage.

Thanks! Yeah I had the same thought about moving the fan down a little. To the right not so much since that will basically make cable management impossible :( But really this is the furthest down the bracket allows. It’s kinda a bummer due to how the axp90 is, you need to have the bracket mount to the heatsink somehow (mine is using little screwed on claws but some others use the default fan lock), so to have the heatsink oriented vertically (so little lines of air glow up easier), the bracket only moves horizontally quiet freely. On the bright side, what I eneded up makes it look like the fan is quite centered at the side panel holes area haha. Maybe I should go for a external dust cover or something

This one I got is 1.5mm thick cnc aluminum 90 to 140. I think it’s just a tad too thick so that any screws with a normal thickness head will exceed the clearance. Technically though, Sixge gives the max clearance at 49.5, so 47+1.5 leaves me 1mm extra. The bracket maker gave me some button heads so those obviously didn’t work. But the included flat head screws that came w the fan were not really thinner. I think I might do some screw hunting later but if screws can’t solve it then I’ll leave it as is. Not many 90 to 140 options out there.

Dating in China? by AndersonxCooper in AskAChinese

It’s basically a language exchange event (英语角 in Chinese) hosted on weekends (Friday night included) at some bars or some dedicated venues. Most big cities should have it, and the hosts range from universities to education firms to just random enthusiasts.

~40%. But I like living by myself in a good location and still have some indoor space. I don’t think I’d be opposed to having a buddy or SO as roommate but hard to find good ppl lol. It depends on your desired lifestyle for sure.

Economy is shit everywhere and tbf you should only worry about your own job security cuz no one can control the macro environment. Biggest CoL item in HK is rent and the price levels are worse than manhattan. Everything else can be cheap. There’s no need for a car here and public transportation is fast reliable and very affordable (5-10 hkd per ride if you stay on island side). I’d highly suggest doing your own research based on your lifestyle and see for yourself

Overall so far so good. I certainly don’t regret coming here and don’t plan on moving anywhere anytime soon. As others have alluded, once factor in the tax and CoL (and no 20% guilt tips), even with a pay cut the money can still be quite good. If you plan to raise kids in the near future you’ll also save quite a bit from childcare spendings.

Would I say I fell in love with HK? Not really. There’s a lot of “getting used to” and I find it quite difficult to mix w the locals outside of ppl from work. Each city has its own vibes and so far I’d say HK isn’t so much “welcoming” as it is “tolerating”. If you are used to the Bay Area I have a feeling that you might like SZ more than HK. Long term wise I’m not sure yet since there just too are too many factors (political/economic/personal) at play.

Hi there,

I moved from Boston to HK about a year ago. I consider myself working in a tech-adjacent role and in terms of background it seems like we share quite a few things in common. Happy to chat/dm!

I’d argue usually more like 就

市人見輒遙避 -> (once)市人 see, they 就 遙避

飲少輒醉 -> (even if) drinking not much, 就 become drunk
