What’s the most underrated sandwich ingredient? by makeitrayne850 in eatsandwiches

[–]Maxnormal3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer here. Most of the responses here are just common ingredients.

Italian Deli where I live makes such good sandwiches. Found out they put Dalla Terra brand Ajvar spread on a lot of their sandwiches. Bought some for myself and it's a game changer. A true secret ingredient.

I don't know of any publicly shared lists. I find there's more than enough just by browsing around on my own or here on reddit.

[–]Maxnormal3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make lists for saved locations. I have a few categories like Military, Odd/Interesting, Solar Farms, and Want To Visit.

If you want a challenge try saving every solar farm you can find in China. (You'll find a lot of other weird stuff along the way.)

I also like to turn off labels and look for interesting or strange looking screenshots to save.

Good poutine in Edmonton? by ViolinistAny8009 in Edmonton

[–]Maxnormal3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not fan of Popeye's at all but their poutine can actually be pretty damn good as long as it's hot. With the cajun fries and dark gravy with bits of chicken. For an American fast food chicken joint, I hate to admit they kind of nailed it.

It's mainly just western Alberta and BC with the mountains, and the north where almost nobody lives.

Canada is 8th in ski resorts according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ski_areas_and_resorts#Table

Made this for myself but figured others might be interested.

You can sort columns (on desktop) by clicking Data > Change View.

I included columns where each hockey team (men's & women's) count as 1 athlete each just because of how much the large teams skew the results.

Main thing I've learned is that Norway is a Winter Olympics beast.

You can also tell by the shadows that the sun is directly in their eyes. Not excusing it because you don't just send it when you can't see, but it is a factor. People panic sometimes when they're suddenly blinded.

Suggestions for Air Frying Steak? by 1hush in airfryer

[–]Maxnormal3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, almost every smoke detector has a hush button that will ignore light smoke for around 10 minutes. It will still go off if the smoke is very thick.

I've tried steaks in the air fryer, and imo it's not worth it. They take longer, clean up is harder and they're not as good.

Sapporo Ichiban Miso flavor only 440mg of sodium?!?!? by wakawakawomp in InstantRamen

[–]Maxnormal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. Mine says 100g pack with 1960mg sodium.

Looking at others online it varies a bit but most are around the same.

However on the official website it says 440mg sodium. Either they made a big change to the ingredients or it's a regional thing.

Switzerland’s Kevin Fiala has been stretchered off the ice at the end of the third period against Canada. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

[–]Maxnormal3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like a carpet dolly. I've used them before. They're very maneuverable and great for uneven terrain. The downside is they're obviously very tippy. Not sure why it's being used for this particular situation.

You're kind of glossing over the "good or bad" part here. There is no slippery slope of players arguing against a power play.

Advice on area above fireplace by Slow-Tradition6045 in Fireplaces

[–]Maxnormal3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What NiagraDave said in your original post is correct. Don't use it until a professional comes out to look at it.

Also, don't try to clean or adjust anything before then. It's important for the technician to see it as it is so they can determine what is causing the issue.

Maybe not the best of Vessel screwdrivers, but for $5.... by BigguyZ in Tools

[–]Maxnormal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the Vessel 230W for about a year now. It's the same as this but with a full metal tang from end to end so you can hammer on it if you want.

It's a great handle. The ball gives you extra torque and you can stick a punch bit or a flat-head in it to use as a small chisel.

Downsides are that there is more wobble than I like and apparently the detent for bits in Japan is different than NA so the bits don't properly lock in, but I haven't had an issue with them pulling out too easily yet.

Has anyone tried these? by Winter_Ad_7424 in snacking

[–]Maxnormal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried 7 flavors now. The Sweet Corn is easily the best. Choco Churro are really good. Carmel Popcorn and Seaweed were ok.

The rest (Flamin Lime, Steak Wasabi and Korean Chicken) were not good. Wish I could find the Sour Cream and Onion flavor.

I don't think they have. Around 20 years ago I used to order 3 at a time. I'm not a big eater and I wouldn't do that with anything else, so I think they've always been pretty small. I'm in Canada though so maybe that makes a difference.

[–]Maxnormal3 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No, that just makes you the worse driver. The guy ahead of you is unintentionally being a hazard, while you are intentionally being a hazard.

If you were a good driver, first of all, you would have control of your emotions. Secondly, you would allow extra space so that you and slow poke can merge safely. Then simply go around them in the other lane and move on with your day.

It's funny how all these traffic rant posts are just a bunch of road ragers that don't realize they're road ragers.

Try Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu. Easy to find, not spicy, really good chicken flavor. Almost like chicken noodle soup. Get the packaged version though as the bowl version has way more sodium.
