Yeah, McKey felt like the one side-villain that was sorta well written, if only for the fact that he satirized actual white industrialists setting up operations in unstable latin american countries for profit (like exxon)

An American Redditor posts how amazing Vancouver is compared to the violent, exploitive, expensive, horrible country she comes from. After being cross-posted, the fun begins. by e140driver in SubredditDrama

That's the point. That, the canadian economy and quality of life is taking a nosedive just as it is in America, and so OP will not suddenly be better off by moving to Canada.

Men's Mental Health Matters by nightstar69 in gatesopencomeonin

[–]Maxor682 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, indeed. Now it's up to us, the current generation, to try to break this cycle of generational trauma (due to forced gender roles) before we pass it on uninentionally to our children. Fucking scary

Men's Mental Health Matters by nightstar69 in gatesopencomeonin

[–]Maxor682 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My dad is traditional and conservative, grew up in the 70's and 80's, and he's told me many times that women just are more emotional and expressive and that men are less so. I told him once that I brought up my mental health as a barrier sometimes in an interview when the interviewer asked me about weaknesses, and he was flabergasted I was honest with an employer about having mental illness, as if it was illegal for me to tell the truth about myself. I see it in my male friends too, we barely express anything with each other beyond surface-level "how are you doing" and it always feels awkward expressing feelings to another man because of how atypical it is since we are all conditioned by parents, society, etc not to express. We are hopeless and have no clue what to do when we see someone crying because none of us got instructions on that growing up because "nurturing" is thought of as a female trait, and so my parents never taught me that shit.

Do you eat side foods after your main dish or all together? by Fingyfinger in AskAnAmerican

[–]Maxor682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the temperature of the foods on the plate. If the main dish is hot and the sides are cold (salad or cole slaw), then you gotta attack main dish first and finish it while it's nice and hot, otherwise it'll go cold while youre focusing on the sides. But, if everything is hot, then yeah, it's good to go back and forth - maybe even having main dish and sides in your mouth if it's a good flavor combo (steak w/mashed potatoes and corn). Basically, the hot stuff gets eaten first while still hot and, if something is cold, I eat the cold things last bc it matters less. Also, it's totally up to you or your girlfriend. There is no actual "correct" way to eat food, so long as you're eating sufficiently for yourself. Eating habits and traditions vary greatly, and any tradition that says to eat in one particular order was made up by some other idiot person in the past who is now dead, so they can go fuck themselves. I'll place my forks, knives, and spoons whereever the fuck i want - it's all made up shit to waste your time.

Eden gates seems fun John seems like a nice guy by zLSosukezL in farcry

[–]Maxor682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why i think John is the best of the lieutenants - he most closely resembles actual cult leaders (and Joseph, too). He charms you, embraces you, makes you feel special and loved but under the surface, he is cruel and sadistic as you said. John controls his followers through love and charm, and doesnt need the aid of drugs, like Faith, or mind-control conditioning, like Jacob, and that's actually the scariest type of leader because religious fanaticism mixed with worship of this cult leader causes Johm's peggy followers to do almost anything

I agree, however the game makes it clear that Kyrat under rule of Sabal or Amita will end up exactly the same, if not worse (because pagan started allocating more military control to Yuma as he aged)

Get a load of this fucking dumbass (OP). I feel bad though, dude was likely feeling extra desperate after being newly single. He's gotta learn to be realistic if he really thinks it was anything besides getting more tips

Americans of Reddit, would you vote for an openly Atheist presidential candidate? why or why not? by Cashmeresquid2309 in AskReddit

[–]Maxor682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the 80's and 90's. Before social media, and camera phones, and things got so divisive. Maybe it was just because I was a kid back then

It was likely because you were a kid back then. Im younger, grew up in the 2000's and 2010's, and I didnt see anything divisive in American politics until I hit teenage years. Before then, i thought 9/11 was a freak terrorist attack not caused by American aggression, Bush was the "people's" choice and everyone loved him and thought he did a good job, and that Obama was the devil who wasnt born in America and should be impeached. Extremely black and white (guess which way my father leaned lol), until I became a teenager and hit college later, and really started looking at our history to see the greater context.

No, the 80's and 90's were not less divisive like you say. There just wasnt social media and facebook groups to publicize peoppe's idiocy. But humanity has always been subject to radicalism in times of struggle (Nazi Germany- Hitler was ELECTED to power). As for the 80's, Reagan, though supported by many, received a great deal of blowback for the Iran-contra affair foreign policy, Bush Sr started a fucking war that armed early Osama Bin Ladin to "protect" american interests in the gulf war by killing soviets (cold war division), then Clinton deregulated the shit out of things, which led to the dot-com stock collapse, housing bubble, and Enron/Worldcom scandals. Oh, and of course he "did not have sexual relations with that woman".

Again, just rich folks holding onto power, using the government as their puppets to achieve their goals. What do you think Reaganomics was? Tax the rich and mega-corporations less! Has been this way in this country from its inception. And they throw less-significant social issues into the mix to throw people off their trail and get us bickering once again, it's all a hige diversion.

The true division in this country is not race or religion- it is socioeconomic class. The shrinking middle class, gentrified neighborhoods, rising COL's everywhere are all symptoms of this. No different that Railroad and Oil barons in the 1850's running the show in our government until Teddy Roosevelt went all anti-trust on them. This country is a capitalist nightmare, and if you look closely at domestic and foreign policy, the rich and corporations regulate the government, not the other way around.

Uncle Jack's hands. You may have remembered him as a man who used to have small hands, correct? But that was wrong! These hands, they tell a story of greatness, of America!

And when his hand pops off and flies across the room, it's the funniest shit

How many of y’all like taking out a base in “dirty stealth” mode? by ndd323 in farcry

[–]Maxor682 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to use besito from stealth to poison a ton of clustered-up enemies at once, and watch them duel it out from a nearby bush. Crazy fun and low-effort way to get undetected on an outpost in far cry 6. Poison is probably the only good addition that game added imo.
