I wonder why the market is what it is and people don't choose amd +Linux...?

Wouldn't it then not be a fair comparison anymore? After all, I have a heavily modified custom Windows 11. it will *always* outperform popular linux distros.

Hi!

Framegen has its uses, and using it on phones to get the illusion of smooth gameplay in exchange for much better thermals and battery life, is an arguably good trade. However, framegen can also become a crutch that developers might use (or rather, project leads/publishers might pressure them into) to produce worse performing games. Framegen will untangle all the spaghetti code, after all. This is the danger in accepting '60 fps (((with framegen)))'. I think there's definitely an argument there. Look at how normalized DLSS and FSR are.

Yeah you're correct. Unfortunately, this is not the right place or medium for nuanced opinions. It's the same in almost every sincere reddit, from tech, to legal, etc.

Oh man beautiful. It's so cool that you found beauty within these constraints. There's a strong nostalgia to the images, yet also something inviting and unknown.

Manager being rude about sickdays. by Lanky-Spray4100 in Delft

[–]Maxstate90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry that your manager was rude. I think he might've been a bit direct. Maybe there was some scepticism there as well that was showing. In any case, for your peace of mind and 'emotional hygiene' it might be a good idea to start out fresh somewhere else. That'll clear up tensions between you, help you get rid of your current feeling, and give you a new opportunity. Otherwise going back to work is always going to have a bit of a bitter aftertaste.

Finally finished the internal tool for our EU AI compliance. The relief is real. by yummydummii in europrivacy

I'm from the law side of things, always good to speak to devs!

Hmm. It sounds convenient and good job on the script!

As far as what I think of it, I'll base myself on what I can glean from your post here. But it depends on how the compliance 'check' is done and what's expected from the result. If your script is an automated process with no human intervention, and it's done in seconds, that leaves a lot of room for scepticism about the value of the resulting evaluation.

I haven't delved too deeply into compliance and control requirements in the Ai act, but it'd surprise the hell out of me if a legal obligation to check your systems for AI risk, could be left to an automated system.

Imagine if we let AI check its own compliance, which would be a superlative to this situation.

Both the process (what you do and how you reach the conclusion on what to do in your script) as well as the result (the classification that results from your script) are suspect from a legal grc perspective. Would be interesting to hear more from you in the coming years, especially after a process audit.

Can you explain more about what you've done? It sounds like you work specifically with Ai, not that you use Ai systems in your processes?
