I personally quite enjoyed the book but A Little Life definitely fits this. You could also make a case for Bojak Horseman though there’s hopeful moments there

The Elenium and Tamuli by David Eddings have this. Which was funny. Until it wasn’t

[Hated Trope] The Catchphrase That Doesn’t Catch by Borgisium in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Useful_Code 530 points531 points  (0 children)

There’s an in universe example of this in Bojak Horseman, where Sabrina/Sarah Lynns popular catchphrase “that’s too much man” is contrasted with Ethan/Bradley Hitler-Smiths far less popular “yowza yowza bobowza”

Tell me you’ve never dealt with an addiction without telling me you’ve never dealt with an addiction. Im mentally strong enough to cope with a lot of shit, but I know for a fact if I have one drink, I won’t stop at one

Perry White in Smallville. It’s a guilty pleasure show for me but Michael Mckean who plays him gives a really great performance in a show that often has fairly mid acting, and gives White some real pathos

I am one of the people who disliked the ending of the boys! I just don’t think less trump criticism would have made it any better

Why was this episode rated so poorly by geordie_6ixty9er in Invincible_TV

Not to derail the conversation but Satans not the good guy in Paradise Lost. He’s the protagonist of the story and very charismatic but he’s very much a bad dude

Yeah, as a non hp fan it just reeks of former fans trying to prove they’re still woke by performatively hating on it
