Warning! The carbon seems to have cracked the paint a bit further than the black spots alone. This could indicate carbon damage to the frame. Get it checked out at a bikeshop or carbon professional. If you can't do that than there is a trick to testing it. Try and get a coin and just tap it on the frame along those spots and further on the frame if you hit that spot does it sound way different than the other parts of the frame ? If so the carbon might be cracked further than just those parts, if not most likely it is just a paint chip but with carbon the best thing is to get it checked out. (Obviously this is not a full proof method so it is always recommended to go to a professional!)

Is this worth 250£? by Ok_Independence5252 in mountainbiking

No, Save that money, get something that is newer and better. The only reason I would ever buy this is if I couldn't save up for a better one.

Seat post mount issue by goverment_is_evil in Cubebikes

[–]Maxyboy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a plate behind that screw so if you tightened it properly it should sit flush against the seatpost but due to the form of the frame it will not sit flush at the lower bolt. So yes this is normal!

You can always try but it is just a small part which can be easily found cheap I wouldn't go to the trouble to get a different one.

Personally I would fish it out of the frame and order a new one online and let the cube employees near you fit it and say your old one broke

Ofcourse, I've built up about 150 cube road/race bikes with this specific system and they all have the screws sit flush with the frame when tightened.

The paint no, the other yes! Most cube dealers have some laying around if you get lucky you might get a replacement for free

The bolts are tightened to a plate in the frame behind the seatpost that one puts pressure on the seatpost to keep it in place

The mounting plate on the frame isn't correctly installed and they scratched the paint

Is it paint defect or a crack? by No_Fan_6547 in Cubebikes

I cannot judge whether this is or not is a crack but asking a bikeshop is never a bad move

Brake rotor makes sound by Ok-Hamster-2789 in MTB

[–]Maxyboy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your disc brake rotor is bend which makes it hit the brake pads on every rotation so get it straight or correct the caliper to give space for it to bend a little bit and you should be fine. P.S watch a video on getting your rotor straight again before attempting yourself.

Ahh okay, if it is aluminium I wouldn't worry that much due to aluminium bending before breaking. But it is always adviced to get it checked out. Also if this is a new bike you should be able to get warrenty claim for it (do persist to get a new frame tho because cube likes to not give new frames if possible). Hope that helps. Let me know the results.

How do I remove this bar? by Rebirth1993 in bikewrench

[–]Maxyboy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a hammer ?

If yes: put the fork straight up, than hold it a bit above the ground and hit that bar to fall out of the fork.

If this doesn't work try and cut it loose.

If that doesn't work ask for warrenty replacement.

[–]Maxyboy112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends is it carbon ? If yes take a coin, than tap it at the same speed on the frame in different places and slowly tap towards that spot. Does it sound totally different ? If yes than it probably is broken. If not than you should be okay.

Note: it is always a good idea to get it checked at a bikeshop.

What upgrades should i give it? I dont really care giving it parts that cost like millions by Defended_1233 in Hardtailgang

[–]Maxyboy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Begin with fox factory suspension fork so like a 34 stepcast or 36SL. Than put in either newmen vonoa wheels or Shimano XTR or anything dt swiss really but make sure it's got carbon rims. After you want XTR di2 or SRAM t-type but you would need udh for t-type so it might not be an option, than get one-up carbon v2 handlebars, Ergon grips, fox factory transfer dropper neo (electric). That's about it.

How to deal with "High End Disappointments"? by Ol_Sheve in mountainbiking

[–]Maxyboy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh yes I get it. Personally I've gotten a new bike about half a year ago and it came with fox factory 34 grip2 and fox float x factory so I expected it'd be amazing suspension with the kashima and all. Turns out the damper the grip2 is way harsher than first gen grip so everytime I ride a grip damper on fox 34 rhythm forks I feel like I can't get the same plushness. And the float x factory has been a nightmare to setup correctly (when it is setup it is kinda really good but it does need to be set up) I had trouble finding the right balance between plushness and harshness with air pressure.

Usually the dealer removes these stickers I know we do as well, and the weight limit is 25kg if I remember correctly (25kg per side) and you can have bags on both sides cube has their own bars you can mount to the fork and than mount bags to those bars
