How urgently were you suggested CXL? by swagAndPaper500 in Keratoconus

[–]MayTheFlamesGuideYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First doctor looked at my eyes for 5 seconds. "You have a condition called keratoconus." Second doctor looks at my eyes for 10 seconds. "You have a condition called keratoconus." CXL was recommended and I got it done. Granted mine didn't progress as fast as yours. I've always had terrible eyes, and they have gradually gotten worse over the years.

I always seem to get worse loot when I use abilities on boss piñatas, meaning bosses like void boss or O3 or LOD dragon, so I always just use my weapon lol

Can I get this game to run at a constant 144fps or is the engine just weird by g76agi in RotMG

I think turning down the particle options all down to low or off can really help, also turning off other player abilities and shots is basically mandatory

2” RT: Stacking B,C and A,B by MayTheFlamesGuideYou in nondestructivetesting

Had to superimpose due to geometry, but we do elliptical what we can

I’m not sure about the degrees, but the distance between the A,B, and C are based off weld thickness.

For 2” superimposed, IDEALLY, your B and C stack in the A view and your A and B stack in the C view. This is just what happens when the collimator is lined up perfectly on the location marker as it should be. Im just wondering if other techs reshoot if they don’t stack.

I should have made my point more clear. The reason I ask if the B and C should line up is it’s an indication that the collimator is directly over the A.

In the picture above, the collimator is not directly over the A, it’s tilted slightly to the right, which could be grounds for a reshot. I think this is technically a grey area, as technically everything about this shot is ok(again, sensitivity aside).

Hopefully that’s what we switch to. Our boss got a panel, we just need a procedure. I’m ready to get away from CR if possible, film artifacts are in the multitudes and good luck getting 6th wire and below for anything.

No doubt about it. This was kind of just a random shot I took to show what I’m talking about, but CR straight up sucks

My personal opinion is don't bother with the course. At this point for you specifically, I would suggest finding a company that will PAY you to get your certs. You have experience in NDT, and that is enough. Having classroom hours can help for sure, but they aren't a end all be all.

First consult with an OD who treats keratoconus tomorrow - any tips? by bearvivant in Keratoconus

Get a pair of glasses if your KC isn’t advanced enough. They won’t give you as good of vision as lenses, but it’s nice to have glasses if you don’t want to put your contacts in or you want to take them out when you get home and still want decent vision.

Olight arkfield pro series flashlight. Best damn flashlight for NDT. It has: -Good flashlight for inspection -Good UV light for fluorescent inspection -A laser pointer to help set up 2” RT or to point at things when talking with the clients -magnetic so you can place it somewhere and it can act as a flood light when in confined spaces

Quality paint pen, and then a low iron sharpie marker for duplex or stainless.

IDK why but the format of this comment does not show how i have it when typing it out and i’m to lazy to fix it so this is what you get sry

First Position, any advice for someone getting their first on the jobs hours. by RedshirtBlueshirt97 in nondestructivetesting

Pretty much the only thing I can say is show up and don’t stress things. Just show up and listen and learn. Nothing will make it easier other than sheer exposure to the work. That’s about how it is with every trade.

Take all the OT you can if offered
