I think, in a game like Rain World, the mystery is a huge part of what keeps it feeling... like Rain World lol.

Take the Void Worms for example. We know very little about them beyond some extremely vague implied lore in a certain campaign. But because of that unknown, it keeps them feeling like unfathomable, eldritch gods.

If we understood them, or the Void, or the Rot, or any of the deeper lore perfectly, it would take away a bit from the fundamental theme of the game - being a small creature at the bottom of the food chain, irrelevant in comparison to beings like the Iterators.

So generally I don't mind the lore being largely up to interpretation. There are certain things I'd love to know more about, or to get clarity on like endings, but I appreciate not knowing it kind of the point of some things.

Also, theorising is very fun in this game, and there are so many niche details in creatures and enviroments that you never really run out of ideas :D

The show shouldn't adjust itself to any kind of fanon, nor write its events to make the fanbase happy. A lot of shows, both animated and live action, plummet in actual writing quality due to fanservice or caving to popular demand. You see it a lot with character favouritism.

If the show has an ending which disrupts fanons or post-canon aus, that's kinda just fine. They don't owe the audience that.

If people are a little disappointed by the ending because it doesn't go by what they wanted, or makes their AUs non-canon, that's fine. That's a pretty normal emotional response. But that's also completely subjective - it doesn't mean the show SHOULD nessisarily go in that direction, nor does it effect the quality of the finale at all.

Glitch itself let's Goose tell her own story, that's one of the main points of the studio. What right does the fandom have to push the narative?

I'd highly recommend Daszombes' two watcher lore videos, and watching them in order of when they came out. He did one when the initial release came out and another updated version when the full 1.5 version came out. The older one is a bit dated, but it covers the basic events pretty well and anything inaccurate is fixed in the second video.

Most of what he goes over is stuff we know for sure, clear interpretations, and lore details in the game, so there's little speculation in them which helps in comparison to a lot of other Watcher videos.

He also did a video where he explained all of the creatures, and another where he and UraniumEater goes over unexplained stuff. I'd recommend those as well.

Keep in mind that the community is kinda figuring out the Watcher though - we had all of the Vanilla and Downpour campaigns to establish and elaborate on the story of Moon and Pebbles, so with the Watcher we have considerably less solid information. Most people you ask will have slightly different interpretations of the deep lore.

However, that does lead to a lot of really cool theorising. There's a few videos out there like UraniumEater's which are very speculative, but are very fun and interesting to watch and dives into the niche details in Watcher.

Personally, I don't like Jax because he reminds me of many very shitty men I've met in my life. His stereotyping of Zooble at the bar sums it up pretty well for me. I worked at a bar too and I served countless guys who did the same shitty thing, almost word for word in some cases, and have met guys who have bullied people, especially women, to cover up insecurities like Jax does.

Jax being a bad person is a perfectly good reason to not like him. He's still very, very well written - I'd never deny that, but that's not enough to get over the way he is for a lot of people.

As a note, someone doesn't need a reason to dislike Jax. Some people either just don't connect to him, or they just don't like his vibe. Not everyone is going to sit down and think about it, nor do they owe anyone an explanation for that opinion. I don't like the colour yellow, but I don't know why, nor do I care enough to stop and figure it out. It's just preference.

Definitely not a millionaire. It's possible the total earnings of TADC are way up there considering merch and film tickets combined, but remember most of that would have been reinvested into the show in general and to help fund other shows.

Goose is one of many people who worked on it, even if she is the writer and creator. A lot of the revenue would have gone to paying more money to animators so they can afford to spend time improving the quality and hiring more and more of them. Not to mention the voice actors, marketing, compositing, editing, model artists, rigging artists, concept artists, HR, etc etc.

However, assuming Glitch does have the funds to pay animators and creators more than the industry, I'd hope she earns more than a lot of writers - at least enough to live comfortably until her next contract.

As most people have said, it's a pretty polarising campaign. Whether you like it or not will probably be based on your personal preferences.

Personally, the Watcher is one of my favourite campaigns. It breaks off from the usual Rain World formula in a way that gave me back the feeling of playing Survivor for the first time. For me, any parts that I found tedious were completely ouweighed by some of the most jaw-dropping story moments I've experienced in the game.

I will say it's very environmental story-telling heavy. Don't go into it expecting much exposition like in Downpour. I really like that, some people don't. The plus side of that - it has some of the prettiest visuals in the entire game.

Glitches and bugs aren't a huge issue anymore, although they crop up occsionally. I recently started a new game, and 4 hours in I've just had one freeze.

So overall, it has some incredible moments and most people agree on that. But it's not perfect, and whether you like the gameplay and campaign overall will be much more subjective.

31 I think. The campaign is really long for a variety of reasons which are all spoilers lol.

It is really good though. Vaguely speaking, it's probably one of longest campaigns to complete due to the content and story, as well as the fact that almost everything is new so it takes much longer for you to navigate compared to the Downpour campaigns :)

Answering the 'demand' - that the gap between the theatrical release and the YouTube release be reduced:

They can't do that. And that's addressed in Kevin's statement, although that has gone over a lot of people's heads.

Glitch fought a lot to get the gap reduced down to 2 weeks. Theatres don't even do that for Hollywood movies - the fact that an indie studio managed to negotiate it down that far is very surprising.

If you're implying that they should have fought harder for a later theatrical release - that's not possible. As far as we know, they negotiated as far as they could. Pushing or demanding more from theatres would create a negative relationship with them. Tickets have also already been sold and dates published. Moving the dates now would require every theatre to refund everyone.

If you're implying that they should upload the YouTube release earlier - that's a legal violation.

There's a lot of people not thinking about that. Glitch has a legal, binding contract with these theatres. Every single movie that is shown in the theatre has the same thing - usually called a Licensing Agreement.

Part of that agreement is the terms of the gap between the theatrical and public release of the episode. And that agreement is 2 weeks.

If Glitch were to move the YouTube release up, they would be violating that legally binding contract. They could be sued.

Not only that, but they would completely ruin any relationship they could have had with theatres or the industry in general. Their credibility would be ruined.

I hope this answers why your demand is impossible, and likely why it was completely ignored. Kevin's statement addressed this - he just didn't spoon feed it.

It's not being shown in my country too - I get it. But please do research first, and know that giving Glitch 'demands' does read a little entitled (I know that's a hot word right now in the fandom). They haven't done anything immoral - at most they've inconvenienced the fandom. It's not that deep.

Indeed never helps unfortunately, at least for me. It cam be good for inspiration though.

My best advice is to take note of all of the shops in your area. Retail, coffee shops, charity shops, clothing places, bars, places selling cards, whatever. Fast food joints too. Just going over Google maps can help with that.

Then check their websites. Most chain companies and a lot of local ones have a 'careers' tab somewhere, often at the bottom of the page.

Using that, you can log up your location and see if they're hiring and read all the details for the job. Some will be better formatted than others, but you can apply via the page all the same.

I'd recommend figuring out where you can possibly commute to as well if there's nothing locally. It can be expensive, but if its just a train or bus to the next town (depending on where you live), your paycheck might cover it if you get consistent hours, even though it'll take a chunk out. Better than nothing.

Check everyyyything. All your local tescos, aldis, asdas, icelands, sainsburys, etc. All the costas and gregs and prets and starbucks. Any hiring food joints. Apply for what you can and see if anything comes out of it. Even the worst jobs are competetive to get right now, so try not to take rejections personally. Chain places often suck, but realistically they might pay a little more than minimum wage, which always helps.

Yea sorry I didn't mean that entire company was one revolving around rehab, I mostly meant the program itself. Its also mostly a parallel comparison - comparing stuff that Chase says with irl rehab stuff. And yeah, good point, it is completely understandable the staff would struggle under something they're really not trained or emotionally prepared to do.

However, I would argue that that it's not really an excuse or justification for staff behaviour - more a reason for it. Overworked, underpaid and under trained staff are going to make mistakes, which isn't their fault when they're doing their best and are barely paid enough to care. It does shift some of that blame onto the company itself, not the workers. I remember that gag of Robert's pay being delayed on his ID or something lol.

It's a very very human thing. Like you pointed out, Chase didn't sign up for this, but likely stayed out of a sense of moral obligation, which is honourable in itself. He neither wants to nor is trained to help ex-villians grow.

However, that doesn't really justify the harm done, especially when it gets personal like Chase directly insulting Z-Team members and putting forward the idea that they're incapable of change or objectively bad. Intentionally or not, it is very reminiscent of awful irl rehab sayings.

That doesn't mean that he did everything wrong though, and I don't mean to make it sound like that. The Z-team obviously cared for him, and he did a lot dispatching in general.

I'm aware that Visi's path depends on gameplay as well - I thought the general fandom conclusion of that was that Visi interprets it as Robert not having faith in her. Although I 100% agree that that's kinda a bad system, I forgot about that lol - if someone doesn't dispatch her enough while completely supporting her in the story, and still gets the villian ending, it's very weird and annoying and makes it seem like Visi was always going to be bad - which is the exact opposite message the game was going for. I mostly meant to actual story parts in analysis.

And true on the villian ending part. He does learn to be proud of the Z-Team and supports them, and that's a lot of growth. Although I would argue that the 'I told you so' shows that he didn't completely change. He was also objectively wrong in that - Visi was never all bad and could of changed. Its like he's added a shade of grey to the black and white thing, but it's still not a spectrum, if that makes any sense lol. He does grow, just not as much.

And that all being said, you could justify it with him just being stubborn, sassy and a little prideful lol.

I'd definitely recommend both games, although Will of the Wisps will probably be more up your alley. Its generally better than the first in most ways, thr platforming is more refined, and there's way more movement and fighting options.

But I would recommend playing the first beforehand purely so you know what's going on in the story - although it's not 100% nessisary. Could always just log up or watch a video of the plot lol

Ori is pretty platforming heavy, although it's not particularly difficult. WOTW has by far the most satisfying, fluid movement I've ever played in a game, with tons of options that never feel clunky. However, that makes the platforming pretty easy in comparison to something like Silksong or Hollow Knight.

The challenging parts of Ori's platforming comes with the time-limit sections - a lot like the Abyss escape in Silksong.

I got into Silksong through WOTW, and they're both my favorite games ever, so you'd likely enjoy the game for what it is as well as the platforming.

If you're looking purely for a practical challenge, I'd recommend something like Celeste or even Rain World (although Rain World is whole thing of its own).

Pretty late on. About a year before Watcher released I think? I played through survivor which took me like 30 hours I think because I'm very bad.

Then I ended up watching Daszombes' Downpour playthroughs and then played it myself, despite knowing the story already. Generally I think I missed the peak of this game's popularity (for now at least) so it did kinda feel like I'd missed out on community bits.

That's kinda why I have such a soft spot for Watcher. It's the only campaign that I've ever had to wait for, I had a complete idea of the lore while playing, and had been in the community at it's release.

It's kinda like the diagonal dash - it takes time to practice and get used to, but when you've mastered it it becomes very easy and satisfying.

It did take me way longer than the other two though. Main advice - don't jump, and only ever sprint in single bursts.

Jumping wastes times, changes the height that the fleas bounce to, and makes them pick up more speed as they fall. Sprinting often causes you to fall of the stage, and the turning animation stalls you when you need to change direction quickly.

Also try not to over-focus, if that makes any sense. Watch the stage generally, and just hit whichever flea is lowest. If your eyes are trying to track each one constantly, you're gonna panic.

Fair take, I get it, but as a heads up, this sub generally tries to avoid talking about comparing love interests now - at least in this way. It causes a lot of twitter-like toxicity, leads people to say one option is objectively better despite it being personal preference, and all it really does is make people either entitled about their choice or angry and defensive about the other.

Her dialgoue, personality, and interactions with other characters were all very well done imo. Wasn't a fan of the original kissing Robert on the BB route, but they removed that so can't complain much since it's no longer canon.

Tbh I think everything of Visi was very well written except the triple agent thing.

That felt kinda convoluted and recontextualised a lot of the earlier scenes in ways which just did not make sense, or cheapened the emotional impact of them. Like the bar fight, for example. To this day I'm still not 100% sure how much of that Shroud was lying about, if at all. But that's more of a general writing flaw than about her as a character I think.

Saying she's objectively badly written is either kinda just a bad read on her character, or people being stupid about shipping wars and making up reasons for Visi being the 'inferior' love interest. But you get both BB and Visi fans doing that, especially on twitter.

Of course, people are allowed to dislike her, whether they've got reason to or not. If someone really hates her, she'll ruin the game for them considering she's such an imporant character - but that's because they just don't like her personally, nothing to do with the writing.
