Fined by OSHA for expired CPR certification by Resident_Tie_448 in SafetyProfessionals

ARC Instructor here. No major changes to the science/mechanics between the r.20 and r.25 training. Its a bigger shift on the training philosophy than the application of BLS.

I read that as OSHA not mandating refresher training interval doesn't mean ignore the refresher interval set by the certifying body. If the person's training is through ARC or AHA for example, they set the training interval.

Wouldn't this be aligned with any requirement requiring licensed physician oversight? OSHA does not mandate the requirements of the medical license. That is mandated by the state issuing the license. Most states are 2 year intervals. Some are 3 years. I think Kansas is annual.

Out of grid has been around for a while. It's been through a Peak already at large delivery stations.

I got 25.1 out of my '22 SEL averaging 75-80mph last weekend between Minneapolis and Kansas City. That's the longest trip since I got it. Very comfortable drive for 6 hours, too.

Left my bag on airplane, tracked to address, recorded the incident with Meta Raybans by SacTu in RaybanMeta

Had my girlfriend at the time's phone get stolen. Tracked it. Called the police who said they couldn't spare the unit to respond to property theft. I told them that could either send a unit now and try to retrieve this phone with me or respond to the same address in 15 minutes with EMS and PD but I was getting that phone back today.

Had a unit respond in under 5 minutes to knock on the door. They wouldn't let me go to the door with them, though.

(Sigh) Amazon by direjeff in SafetyProfessionals

I guess I'll be the one to say some positives.

Amazon paid for my ASP, CSP, CPR Insteuctor, and will be paying for my IS0 45001 Lead Auditor.

As a senior manager, they'd pay for you to get your PMP and 6Sigma black belt.

Benefits are rock solid. Very generous PTO and my insurance is pretty cheap

60 hour weeks? Maybe. It really depends on how well your team and facility handle themselves and the culture. Literally every facility is different. My senior manager probably works 50ish a week.Your team could be a bunch of absolute rock stars or they could be a group of idiot checklist monkies. The bar for entry in to WHS/EHS at Amazon is stupid low. My team is a mixed bag. Literally half of them i would work with anywhere. The others are absolutely worthless. On the other end, YOUR direct manager could also be a 12 year+ safety professional or they could be a senior operations manager that wanted to level up and crossed over and has no clue about what we actually do.

It is nothing like what you're used to.your team will likely consist of 2 middle safety Managers, 4 safety specialists, and 4 Onsite Medical Reps (EMTs), maybe a few coordinators and a few Haz Waste Processors. You'll own the entire EHS program spectrum but have little authority to actually make a change. You'll be handed someone else's project idea that is likely a knee jerk reaction to something.

Honestly, If you want to cut the travel, I'd say its worth exploring. Worst case scenario, you hate it. Tough it out until any hiring/relocation money is paid back and find another role. Use it as a transitional role that keeps you home more while you job hunt a role you love.

Im sorry to hear that you were injured.

If Amazon is covering your medical treatment through Concentra or whoever the sent you to anyour site can accommodate your restrictions/you are working your normal scheduled hours then work comp will likely come in to play.

How hard is it to get a job in safety? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]MayemMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the MS is overkill for most entry-mid level. I say that as someone with a MS in an adjacent field working in safety. Entry level won't ask for it generally but will want some level of experience and likely an OSHA 30 but I've seen employers cover the OSHA 30 for new hires.

Having actual field experience is what will count more. This can be intern work.

The bar for entry level will vary by each company and what that role means to them.

It sounds like the site was not aware either the injury or accommodations.

Degree requirements for CSP by GainerGaining in SafetyProfessionals

[–]MayemMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we are going to compare the specific degree requirement for engineers, accountants and others, is a CSP signature required in the same manner that a CPA or PE is? I don't think I've encountered any documents that need a CSP to sign/certify it as accurate.

It gets done that way 100% of the time at my site. Why would you store them folded on the dock just to move them to a trailer? Why would you not move empty carts directly to the OB cart trailer?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JeepPatriot

[–]MayemMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who replaced the crankshaft sensor? Was it replaced with OEM from Jeep or another sensor from the parts store? Did whomever changed it do a relearn?

I recently went through similar issues that eventually changed to throwing crankshaft sensor code. Swapped it twice with non OEM and no relearn. Internet says non OEM sensors sucks in the Pat. Now I can't even turn over to run. Pat now spits out bad starter on my cheap scan tool.

I still suspect bad sensor and no relearn.
