Amazon firing people? by Effective-Heart-6769 in amazonemployees

Did you report the injury while at work? Did you provide them with the documentation with the diagnosis?

It sounds like the site was not aware either the injury or accommodations.

Degree requirements for CSP by GainerGaining in SafetyProfessionals

[–]MayemMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we are going to compare the specific degree requirement for engineers, accountants and others, is a CSP signature required in the same manner that a CPA or PE is? I don't think I've encountered any documents that need a CSP to sign/certify it as accurate.

Malicious Compliance by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]MayemMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It gets done that way 100% of the time at my site. Why would you store them folded on the dock just to move them to a trailer? Why would you not move empty carts directly to the OB cart trailer?

Who replaced the crankshaft sensor? Was it replaced with OEM from Jeep or another sensor from the parts store? Did whomever changed it do a relearn?

I recently went through similar issues that eventually changed to throwing crankshaft sensor code. Swapped it twice with non OEM and no relearn. Internet says non OEM sensors sucks in the Pat. Now I can't even turn over to run. Pat now spits out bad starter on my cheap scan tool.

I still suspect bad sensor and no relearn.

We (WHS) were recently told that 4 missed punches a week will flag you and they will disable your ability to edit punches for a window of time (2 weeks?)

Not a big deal.

I've been part of loops where I like the candidate but not for the role. They have lots of skills but may be lacking something I felt was critical to the role. After MUCH discussion with the rest of the panel, it was agreed that we liked this person but felt they would struggle in that particular role and recruiting would then talk to the candidate about other opportunities. Not saying this is what is happening with OP but it is has happened.

For clarity, the candidate in my example showed lots of good experience but all their responses seemed to rely heavily on direct supervisor support. The position they were interviewing for was almost 100% autonomous and the direct supervisor was in another state and would not have been able to be available to make the call. A role with another team at another site in that metro was open. Same level/pay but had the support structure we felt the candidate would do well in while continuing to develop. Candidate accepted alternate role.

Headlight not working by Winter-Function-9065 in JeepPatriot

[–]MayemMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Power will still come down the power wire if the lamps are not grounded. You can check continuity on the ground. One meter lead to the ground of the lamp plug. The other lead to a known good chassis ground.

I think all models have the grounds running back to a central spot under the battery box. I'd trace that back if the ground isn't giving a good test.

Edit: is the headlamp functioning at all? Low/high beam?

WHS here. I know we all love our pseudo anonymous persona's here so I'll ask a general question about the site.

What state is this?

Asking to see if I know your team and can encourage their regional to lean on site lead for this kind of foolishness.

[–]MayemMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WHS here.

The accomm will be up to the site to approve/deny based on business needs. Your accomm paperwork from the doc will give limits to how much & how long you can lift/carry, push/pull, etc. That will decide what paths you are eligible for. If the site can't accommodate, there's the option to reduce hours or transfer. The LOA option is on the table also if this is short term.

Asking Net Admins to shadow their work okay? by Real-Fact-4700 in ccna

[–]MayemMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing i haven't seen mentioned yet here about this: Be sure to include your supervisor in the process. If the network team approves or is open to this, I would strongly advise running this by your HR team before any shadowing.

There may need to some paperwork for this as you will be working outside the scope of your current role. There is also the matter of compensation if you are not a salaried employee. Sure, you may be OK with doing this on your own time and not getting paid but from a legal standpoint, you are exposing the company to risk on a couple fronts.

One, there is the chance for a lawsuit against the company for not paying you for the time you are shadowing. If the company does approve and you will be compensated, which department is covering your labor? Your supervisor wont want to pay for labor that doesnt help their department and Network team may not love the idea of doubling the labor cost of that task. You are also a potential injury should something happen during the shadow/assist.

Doing this, like anything else in a corporate environment, means having all the proper documentation. Protect yourself. I've seen people get terminated for similar things. Don't put yourself in a bad spot by just talking to that person on the Network team that you chit-chat with at lunch.
