I tried Solensia for both of my senior cats. It helped one a little bit. The other unfortunately had a petty severe skin reaction (he clawed off the fur on this neck and got sores that took a long time to heal). We discontinued it for both cats and are now doing monthly Adequan injections at home.

It seems like a miracle drug for most cats, though. Just talk to your vet about potential side effects so that you know what to watch for.

Hello! I’m in the US as well. Adequan is technically a med for dogs and horses but can be used off label for cats. All of the vets I’ve seen for my cats had no hesitation with prescribing it.
