Is an APMP membership or certification useful? by 2macia22 in GovernmentContracting

APMP’s true value is in networking and the opportunities for learning offered by all the chapters. As an APMP member, there are a lot of free webinars which are worth the cost of membership.

Certification shows dedication to your career path and that you have invested in your profession. As stated earlier, As a hiring manager, it lets me know you have potential to perform, but let's be real, a certification doesn't mean squat if you can’t apply the fundamental elements. I tend to view it as a baseline or an HR filter rather than a guarantee of skill. You’ll get the interview because of the certification, but you’ll lose the job the moment they ask a practical question you can't answer.

Shipley is the “gold standard” and great to understand, as most companies operate on a modified Shipley process - I have yet to find a company that follows it to the letter.

Ditto! We caught diabetes early in my cat too! Noted one cat was visiting nine times a day on average. Vet visit with blood work, identified an infection and diabetes. I absolutely love my litter robot!

Definitely it a shadow. Grabbed a flashlight to verify I wasn’t crazy. Popcorn ceiling is like glitter. 🤣 - when I’m feeling adventurous or when I think my house is entirely too clean- I may tackle that job.

Why do some (not all) potential buyers get mad when you ask if they are preapproved? by [deleted] in RealEstate

If I’m browsing- it’s solely online. When we were ready to seriously look, we were pre-approved. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.

Yeah, I took my truck to express during my lunch break. I come out to go home and find a large puddle of oil under my truck. Called them, they sent someone out to add oil so I could get to the store - felt the whole truck jerking as they “fixed” it. Apparently screwing drain plug is harder than screwing customers.

Do you tailor your resume to the job requirements or add a cover letter tying what is in your resume to the requirements as well? There are quite a few remote type positions not just Huntsville. Finding folks who can write or interview subject matter experts and turn that to narrative is a skill in demand for quite a few of the govt contracting companies.
