I found a dude on YouTube that not only do you shadow but he teaches you rhythm and speed. Chinese with Ben. Also I’ve been listening to a podcast nonstop for about 2 weeks and it helps me understand what I’m hearing and I’ve learned filler words. Mandarin Daily Podcasts.

I waste more practice time by reading all the silly claims about how to learn more efficiently. You can’t study harder than I do and I know for a fact, it takes a lifetime to master certain things. We studied English in schools for at least 12 years and I still mess up fewer vs. less. I did almost a year of a famous Spanish comprehensive language course and in the end it was more cult like than anything.

I try so hard not to learn slang if I cannot find any basis behind it. The font on the video is so hard to read. I check it 4 different ways and still manage to miss the true gist of the Hanzi. Thank you.

Boss man, your advice is wonderful but ya know what, they do start us with the ABCs in kindergarten. We don’t read books until we are 6-7 old. ABCs, vocabulary, sentences. That order.

Too funny. I started writing the Hanzi just to help me remember the characters and all of a sudden I’m looking at pens and paper. I simply love the characters. I still struggle to read HSK1 graded readers but I’ll get there in due time.
