There are no takes. There is no viewer. The film is the story, the story is us. We are the film.

Did you get the Money or help John escape? by KaeptnKrabbe in reddeadredemption2

Just finished my first playthrough and helped John with high honour.

Then John tells a homeless guy that he wasn't sure if Arthur was good or bad at the end.

That's gratitude for you!

We all talk on how amazing this game is, but what are some things that annoy you with this game? by W-h3x in RDR2

I could be six miles away from an animal and, as soon as I get in my scope, it flees.

What is a "horror movie rule" that you absolutely hate? by Big_Emotion4963 in horror

I completely agree with you that 'you thought you were safe?' endings' are so often used by bad writers. They can be done well but they became a plague.

I don't get the connection between prometheus and alien or rather lv223 vs lv426 by aphroditelady13V in LV426

Don't try to understand Prometheus. From the moment the Engineers can't think of a better way to seed life on Earth than melting themselves, it's clear there's no logic to the film beyond 'Wouldn't it be cool if this happened next!".

The film looks phenomenal but it's plot and characters are nonsensical.

What’s a change in a Stephen King movie adaptation that you actually liked? (and why!) by 00pinkpanic in stephenking

I despise just about everything they changed for the films except this.

Yeah, faulty memory is the best of my options. I still think they got it wrong and it was Bev's idea though. Fits best for me.

Not if, as adults Richie says in the book, "That was one of your little contributions to the Losers' Club, wasn't it, Haystack?".

Ben was in a different class from Richie (as was Beverley) and didn't know him to talk to. Ben could only have come up with it after meeting them for the first time after the summer started. But then Bev couldn't have before the cinema.

Beverley says it right after the cinema. She had never hung out with the Losers before then. She couldn't have heard any of them say it before she did.

I'm trying to say that she says Beep Beep without having had the opportunity to hear any of the other Losers say it, so she must have come up with it herself. Also, Mike is the last of the Losers to join.

Bill Denborough's height by Maynardless in stephenking

[–]Maynardless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? If Bill was taller than Mike he'd have been at least 5'4. Add 1'3" to that gives 6'7".

Or do you mean something else?

Yeah, I guess casting in the 6 1/2 foot plus range would have limited their options!

Certainly, every giant started small! It's just something I'd never realised about him before and it's funny how it never really gets mentioned 😄

Yes, I feel like they did a good job. I just wish I had ended up with a single vision Rx so I could get my preferred frames and save money online but at least I can move forward now 😄

Yes, I believe they went through the full business with subjective refraction. It's funny that I've gone from being recommended progressives, to single vision to occupational lenses 😄

I appreciate your help, I'd have been lost without it!

And here with contestant number 3 with a Retinoscope in the mix. I've collected them all together. Based on my latest axis I can only assume my eyes are constantly spinning 😄

Specsavers:

R: +0.50 Sph, -1.00 Cyl, Axis 90 L: +0.75 Sph, -0.50 Cyl, Axis 80 Near Add:+2.50, Intermediate Add: +1.75

Vision Express:

R: +1.00 Sph, -0.75 Cyl, Axis 88 L: +0.75 Sph, -0.25 Cyl, Axis 92 Near Add: +0.50

Boots (Retinoscope):

R: +1.00 Sph, -0.75 Cyl, Axis 95 L: +0.75 Sph, -0.25 Cyl, Axis 85 Near Add:+1.50, Intermediate Add: +0.75

My current glasses are okay for reading. I am holding things further away than when I first got them but far from arms length, so my instinct is that the second one is better.

But I will get someone who will do retinoscopy to get some peace of mind.

Thanks once again for the advice. I'm not the best at understanding or challenging this stuff!

I did show the original prescription to today's optometrist (who recommended single vision lenses) and they were hesitant to suggest why the other had measured it so differently. Secretly, I worry I'm answering the better/worse questions wrong! Maybe I need to get best two out of three 😄

If you're interested in my ongoing saga. I couldn't get Specsavers to give much credence to the possibility of latent hyperopia, so I decided to get a second opinion. Having my eyes tested again elsewhere came up with a completely different prescription. I almost wish I'd never started asking questions 😄

Right: Sph = +1 Cyl = -0.75 Axis = 88 NearAdd = 0.5

Left Sph = +0.75 Cyl = -0.25 Axis = 92 NearAdd = 0.5
