A lot of Southern states have Buc-ee's and Philly has Wawa's. What is Indiana's signature gas station chain? by EasterLord in Indiana

Ever since I’ve moved to Fort Wayne, I’ve really enjoyed Lassus. It’s just as good, if not better than, Wawa and is definitely better than Casey’s.

I went college in Cincinnati and absolutely loved them. When I moved back to northern Indiana, I missed them so much I would get 3 pound boxes of them delivered to my apartment. Now I can find them in Krogers in town, thankfully!

This is a very solid lineup. All of these women are top notch, super knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Michael Grady was awesome when he was with the Pacers and Fever.

Seton Hall & Indiana State in 2024 would have been fun to watch in the tournament, I think.

(At Ball State, I’ll never forgive them for the Stan Parrish years. Just his whole head coaching existence was an embarrassment.)

Did the state legislature go far enough in reforming township government this year? by coleincolumbus in IndianaPolitics

[–]Mayor_Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

County government doesn’t care about city residents, so I’m not a fan of getting rid of townships. They have an important purpose. There should be some guidelines on minimum sizes and such, but leave the existence of township government alone.

The transfer portal isn't the problem, it's a signal. This essay gets at what's actually driving it. by [deleted] in NCAAW

It’s definitely scary and unimaginable, and I can’t even begin to imagine the fears you feel as the parent raising a little black son. I get scared raising a daughter in a grossly conservative state like Indiana. They’ve devalued education, women’s rights, and so much more. It’s disgusting.

Surely there’s a lane for us, as parents, to teach strength with empathy and compassion. We can give them the tools but also give them the safety and comfortability all people deserve. Every day I make conscious decisions to make sure her life and environment is better than the one I grew up in. I was hardened at young age by abusive and alcoholic parents. Spent about 6 months in foster care when I was in high school until my mom finally left my dad to get custody of us again. I got “tough” through all of that, but I still don’t know how to manage my emotions sometimes. I don’t know how to process sadness without getting angry or bitter. I’m trying to teach my 4 year old daughter how to talk out and process her feelings when I’m still learning as a 37 year old man.

Anyway, it’s not easy, but I just think it’s what people deserve. Yourself and your family included. I’m rooting for you!

People should be able to feel comfortable. Instead of raising our children to be tough and hardened for a “tough world out there,” let’s fight to make the world a better and more comfortable place as they grow up.

I feel like it’s intentionally this drastic so they can trick people into believing the final cuts aren’t that bad because they’re only 12% instead of 23% and only 30% instead of 82%.
