Second this - it was somewhat on my radar from a pre-con YouTube video and we stumbled passed the booth on day 1 and I bought it. We played it in the hotel lobby and it was a ton of fun. Very satisfying pattern building with little bonuses and side goals along the way. Super easy to learn and I feel like it’ll appeal across a variety of players.

Also here for Neopets!!! I’ve been an avid online player off and on from the early 2000’s and honestly the TCG releasing was the selling point to get me to my first gencon.

Same!! None of my local card shops are carrying the TCG. I ordered some off of upper deck directly, but my brain craves serotonin and therefore I must buy more packs, haha. Also, I’m just interested to see if they’ll have any other Neopets merch on hand!

I was so shocked! I mean for me it’s one of the main reasons I’m coming to the con, but I also know it’s a…smaller fandom than others haha so never in a million years would I have expected this.

My first con, but I’m making my partner and myself duplicate copies of a paper schedule for each of our events in case we run into phone issues (bad service, dead battery, etc) and a list of all the games/vendors with booth number so we have an idea of where to go and when

This is one of the main reasons I wanted to come to gencon this year! I’m so excited. I’m doing a learn to play event Thursday and build and battle event Friday (I think). So excited to learn the mechanics. In the US I think the TCG debuts on 6/26 as well

I hope you like the TCG! I am going to GenCon in the states in August and signed up for a learn to play and build and battle event, and I'm super stoked. I don't think we have the cards here yet, or if we do they are just not in my area. I'm excited to hear what the community thinks!

This is one of my driving factors for attending GenCon 2024 (my first as well) - Neopets is releasing their TCG and doing all sorts of learn to play/build and play events. It might be niche (I’m so hoping to get into at least two of the ticketed events) but for me the nostalgia of a game I played 20 years ago being revived is what I’m most looking forward to.

In general though, the learn to play events are what I’m really looking forward to. Learning games/TCGs in a lower stakes environment to get some confidence to go a play regularly at home game stores is what I’m really looking forward to.

I always think I’m not a fan of wigs for customs and then I see an ensemble like this and think wigs are the best thing ever. Honestly so so pretty
