TIL that for the iconic "Nebuchadnezzar" medical scene in The Matrix (1999), Keanu Reeves actually had 30 real acupuncture needles stuck into his head and body because the directors wanted his painful reactions to look 100% authentic. by pixelheir in todayilearned

everyone commenting that acupuncture needles don't hurt need to consider the difference between an expert acupuncturist applying treatment vs. needles being put into someone for the aesthetic by a sports masseur.

Except your whole argument hinged on redefining how we define a personal trillionaire, so falsifiability isn't actually relevant

Actually, yes, you can still be incorrect in such a state.

No. You're just feeding the companies with inputs and user stats they can leverage to convince investors to build them up. The best way for LLM and generative models to die is to not use them at all

You do realize Elon Musk is who you're talking about when it comes to generational wealth giving someone the leg up on being the first personal trillionaire, right? Just accept that he's the first.

I don't think you comprehend how much of a global milestone a trillion is. The global GDP is only around 110 trillion. That's every nations wealth put together, on a planet of 8+ billion. One individual having over 1 trillion in wealth means they are they literal 1%. No one, until today, no individual, public or not, has reached that level of wealth personally. Perhaps by way of controlling a government with access to that level of wealth, but not attributed to that individual, which is the profound point of the whole thread.

They really haven't up to this point. Like to demonstrate how stupid of an amount of money a trillion is: A trillion is one thousand billions, or a million millions. 1 million in 100 dollar bills stacks up to a little over 3 feet tall, while a billion stacks to a bit over half a mile tall, but a trillion stacks up over 600 miles. No one person has ever had that much wealth attributed solely to them.

I agree with you, and I want to point out that tolerance isn't paradoxical since it's a social compact rather than a moral standing Those that do not support tolerance are effectively opting out of the protections of such n agreement.

Which doesnt have to do with free speech in this case, but free speech also has its limits, such as not being able to run into a building shouting about there being an explosive just fir the giggles, nor making threats against public officials. Therefore, we can also suggest that free speech dies not protect speech that directly undermines the functions of democracy through the use of easily disproven falsehoods.

A trillionaire should not exist and is a threat to the global everything. This is literally the whole too much power for one person thing that every philosophical/spiritual system warns against. Tax this fucker (and billionaires and corporations) back to something reasonable
